Alice's POV: (FLASHBACK)
My skin got goosebumps as I felt the cold leather hit my back, the back of the jacket reading "Southside Serpents", all in capitals. He puts his hand on my shoulder, making me feel safe, he then moves them to my hair, and pulls it out of the jacket, not like one of those fights like siblings have, (ripping each other's hairs out) but like gentle, he pulls it so it's laying on the back of the leather, and not stuck in the back of my neck like it's uncomfortable.

He removes his hands from my head, and then places them both on my shoulders, turning me to look at him face to face. He rests his head on mine, for about five seconds, then moves it to the right side of my ear, whispering; "Welcome to the serpents, we take care of our own, never betray your own." He then moves his head back but still has his hands on my shoulder, "I won't." As those words come out of my mouth, he has a slight smirk across his face, and I knew right at that moment that I'll always fight for the serpents. I'll never ever betray them. They're where I'm from.

He pulls me close in his arms and gives me a hug, making my face touch his shoulder, this is where I felt safe, in his arms, he held me tighter, I could barely breathe, I didn't want him to let go, but I couldn't breathe, so I gasp for air, "I can't breathe." He giggles quietly, and whispers "I just want you to feel safe, if it's uncomfortable, just let me know." I give him a light smile, one that says, 'thank you.'

FP's POV: (FLASHBACK)
Fred hands me a serpent jacket, blood red, with a green snake at the back of it reading "Southside Serpent". I tug it out of his hands gently and smile at him; "Thanks, dude." "No problem, FP."

I glanced at her quickly, so she wouldn't see me, she looked very scared and nervous, I had to at least try and make her feel comfortable. I put one hand on her shoulder giving her a sign she'll be safe with the serpents. I put the jacket on her, the cold leather hits her back, I grab strands of hair and make sure there are no more strands of hair left in the jacket, so she'll feel comfortable. I put a hand on her waist then move them quickly to her shoulders, and turn her around so she's looking me in the eyes, I then put my head close to hers, and whisper in her ear, "welcome to the serpents, we take care of our own. Never betray your own." She gives me a slight smile, and looks super nervous, I smile back at her, I then pull her closer into my arms, and squeeze her tightly, she looks into my eyes, panicking; "I can't breathe." I chuckle lightly, as she says that, I then let go and put my head against hers; "I just want you to feel safe. If you're ever uncomfortable being around me, just let me know." I have a wide smile on my face and she gives me a slight smile.

After that meeting, later that day:

ALICE POV: (FLASHBACK)
I take a small path, leading to the parking lot of the quarry, I see a dark shadow approach me and a frantic look approaches my face. As it gets closer I realize that face, it's the same guy that put the serpent jacket on me. I'm sitting on the hood of my car, and I look up to see him, "Why are you leaving so quickly?" He smiles, giving her a wink. "Why do you care?" I ask, smiling like an idiot. "Maybe because I wanna know why you're leaving so early." He replies, and I have a frustrated look on my face, he laughs, "You're cute when you're frustrated." I try to give him the 'I'm not really comfortable look' so he replies; "sorry..." I smirk at him, "No, it's ok, sorry... it's just... things are complicated." "You have a boyfriend. I get it. It's alright." A tear blurs my vision, and strikes down my face quickly, as the other tears flow slowly. He holds my face in his hands, and looks scared for me; "what's wrong?"

It's honestly nice to know he cares, truth is, nobody knows what's wrong, and if I say I'm ok, when people ask, I lie and say yes. I'm really not though. His hands are warm as they're on my face. He moves his thumbs on both sides of my face toward my cheeks, wiping my tears away. He puts a hand behind my head, and one on my lower back. Pulling me close, so my head is relaxed on his chest, he's got a plaid long sleeved shirt on, it's blue and black. "Please tell me what's wrong so I can help you." He sighs, with a sad look on his face, actually caring. I sob in his chest, "sorry for getting your shirt wet." I try to pull away from him but his hands force my head to cry into his chest. "It's ok, as long as you're ok, I'm happy. But please, tell me what's going on." I cry even more, he comforts me; "You're ok, as long as I'm here, you will be safe. I won't let anyone touch you." Even more tears flow down my cheeks, "I am hurt." I try to pull away again, but the same thing happens, he forces me to cry into his chest. "What do you mean? And be specific." "M-my... my boyfriend, he, he's like... abusive..." He holds me tighter looking frightened, "It's ok, it's ok." "It's not, I'm not." I sob, as I say in a worried voice. "I won't ever let that happen to you again, I'm not letting you go back to him. And you better not, not as long as I'm here." He also cries; "You shouldn't cry because of something that's happening to me." "Well, I care, and I don't want that to be happening to you, so let me cry." I hug him back, both my hands on his back, he lets me go, and says panicked, "let me drive you home?" Most of my tears are gone, "can you drive me to your house instead? I don't really wanna face my parents... I can totally sleep on the floor..." "Of course!" He says with joy, wiping all his tears away. He opens the car door as it screeches "Haha, you should oil this baby." I smile at him, "I never have the time. My parents are always fighting, yelling at each other. Acting like monkeys, it's really frustrating." "Oh, I'm sorry..." He sighs, blowing the hair out of his face, he hops in the car, and I get off the hood  of the car, and get in beside him.

We were crazy teenagers, so of course before he drove me home, we went to a bar. At the end of the night, I don't even know how much shots I had. He told me to slow down but I didn't. He didn't drink at all, I kept pushing him to, but he didn't listen to me. "You need to stop drinking." He takes the shot glass from me, and throws it out. I yell at him for five straight minutes and he has a straight face, "Give me the shot glass! I want more!" I shriek, and scream like a two year old would when they're parents won't buy their favourite toys. "No. You need a break. Calm down." He forces his eyes to meet mine, I try to lean in to kiss him, but he pulls away, "You're drunk. I'm not gonna even try to take advantage of you. I would never do that." He sighs, he grabs my hand, leading me back outside to the car. I throw another fit. "Let me go!" He grabs my wrist pulling me towards the car, he then puts one hand on my back and the other on my waist, standing behind me, he sits me down in the car in the back seat. He goes to the front and sits in the front seat. "Do up your seat belt." He instructs me. So I did it. He drove me down an empty road. "Don't tell me this where you're planning on killing me." He let out a loud laugh. "Never, would I ever do that?" I look at him and smile.

He leads me to this house, it's not big at all, really tiny, actually. A little porch at the front and stair steps leading to the door. It had a really tiny pool, and he led me inside, he opened the door and soon enough I asked the most random question "How do you have the keys?" "I live here, Ali." "Oh..." I look at him confused, my eyebrows arch. "Come in. It's a safe place. There's a couch right here." He gestures to the couch pointing me towards it. He lays out a blanket for me, and a tiny fur pillow. "I'll sit on the floor right beside you til you fall asleep" I nod my head and thank him with a wide smile on my face. "Sweet dreams, Alice." "Sweet dreams, FP." I turn around putting my hands under the pillow trying to look for comfort, he soon spots me still awake, I feel nauseous. "Alice, are you ok?" I look at him, "I'm gonna throw up FP. I can't get up." He lends me a hand and I still can't get up, so he then puts both his hands on my waist and lifts me up. I'm now standing. He grabs my hand and his grip is so gentle. He walks me to the bathroom, and points me toward the toilet. He pulls my hair back, so it's out of my face. I get down on my knees and put my head over the toilet. I let it all out, he closes his eyes, and tries to comfort me through it, "it's ok, let it out." He gives me a paper towel afterwards, and I wipe off my mouth. "Are you ok now, Alice?" "I think so." He hugs me, and I feel comfortable in his warm embrace.
