"Good morning!" Melanie chimed as she shook at covers violently off her best friend in an unsuccessful attempt to wake her up.
"C'mon Luna, are you going to sleep the entire day? It's the first day of the vacations, let's go to the beach or do some aesthetic shit. Ugh, you're SO boring" Mel rambled pushing the velvet curtains apart to reveal piercing sunlight.
"Yes, I will sleep my way through the vacations so can you please stop nagging me for things I don't want to do?" Luna groaned
"I know things have been hard since Luke and you broke up, I'm just trying to make you feel better" Mel sulked, knowing she hit the weak spots.Luna is a seventeen year old art student, who fell in love with the schools jock, only to have her heart ripped out and got played like a football ( no pun intended). Currently, she's going through the one of the many break-up phases of her life.
"Ugh, okay fine, let's just go get a coffee? Is that satisfying enough for you?" Luna snapped.
"Jeez cranky pants, let's go get a coffee"
Luna dramatically huffed and tossed the duvet off her pale body and headed towards her dresser, tossing on a black and white stripes jumper paired along with black skinny jeans. She brushed her hair and let her chocolate dark brown hair flow to her waist in all its glory.
As soon as Luna's mother saw Luna standing there dressed up and ready to go out, she was shocked. Luna hadn't even bothered to leave her bedroom to even go to the bathroom, let alone outside the house.
"Morning love, where are you going?" Her mother inquired
"Just grabbin' a coffee mum, let's go Mel" she grabbed Melanie's arm and they left the Park Residence and headed towards the coffee shop barely two blocks away.
"How's your mother been holding up"? Melanie asked.
Luna's mother and her parents divorced about two years ago, and her relatives kept on insisting her to marry someone as Luna needed a 'fatherly figure' in her life. But she refused, and was raising Luna on her own." Eh, she's doing better. She's been sober now which is pretty satisfactory I guess. It's breakup season in the Park house" she smiled.
Warm autumn breeze flew by, creating a very depressed atmosphere or maybe it was depressing because last autumn she had been here with the same guy who dumped her at prom, in front of everyone. She sighed heavily pushing the horrible memories of that day away, and she sighed again realizing her mind always crept back to him, and she couldn't help but wonder if he missed her too. Did he miss receiving good morning texts from her? Did he still wake up every morning hoping someway miraculously he would get a text from her like she did?
"-and then he sai- Luna. Lunaa" Melanie waved her arms in front of her snapping her out of her daze.
" I- sorry yeah I'm listening, yeah go on"
"You doing alright?" Melanie rubbed her shoulder.
"Yeah, I'm fine" Luna lied. She was far from fine. She wanted to sleep forever. And that sounded so suicidal and maybe she was. Maybe life had messed up so bad that she actually genuinely wanted to end everything now. She kicked a pebble along the roadside and turned to a door that read "push".
"There it is" Luna sighed.A hurricane awaited her ahead
