Book One

Chapter One: With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility

Shaun:
I was just walking to school, minding my own business when I'm greeted by a man. He said his name was Color Kid. He wanted to give me powers, showing them to me like he was handing me drugs. Of course I accepted. Who wouldn't? It's free powers, not matter what it was, it was free. He tells me just to have fun with my life and not to take things too seriously, which is something I was doing anyway. He changed my life though, not only can I turn things into any color I want, I now live in Maryland. Nothing of my life is different, just everyone I know at my school and my family lives in Maryland and they act like they've lived here their whole lives. It's not super helpful, but I'm cool with it. Beggars can't be choosers.

Isa:
Day 300 of my training. Nearly a year since master Yami Sukehiro found me. He's trained me ever since he found me. He gave me a pretty decent education at Smithsburg middle school so far. He says I need to be strong so that I may take over his position as the Samurai of Maryland. One whose dark magical powers know no bounds.
Day 301 of my training. Master Yami Sukehiro's gotten really sick. I'm worried about him.
A few days pass
Day 315 of my training. Master Sukehiro is dead. On his deathbed, he gave me his power. I now wield dark magic, duel katanas, and I can sense ki. I sense two great ki and one other that isn't a threat. The two will either join me and fight against evil or die.

Gillian:
I'm in school. Math class. Boring as usual. I look around and realize that in the middle of doodling on my notebook the room had ceased movement. Everything just stops. I mean everything. The students, the teachers, and all the things around them just stop moving. Then, it all disappears. Everything except the building. It's dark and cold. I stand up and start moving toward the door. I walk into different classrooms and there wasn't a single living creature to be found. At this point, I don't know what to do. I'm scared, alone, and a chill goes down my spine. I walk into the cafeteria and I see two figures. They were short but intimidating girls. But they didn't scare me, they spiked my curiosity and I take another step towards them. One puts a finger up to their lips, they are telling me to keep quiet. Then, a creature comes up behind them. A dog-like monster. But it looks so wrong. Like, it's not from our world. Then suddenly, it goes flying back through a window. Blood dripped from one of the bystander's hooked noses. The girl looked tired with her hand held up towards the creature.They turn to me and tell me I can have this power, I can see what others can't, I can control people. I'm shown an awful image of Ryan being killed by a yellow haired kid. I'm told this is just a vision of what's to come and that I can prevent this. I need to use my powers of telekinesis and visual distortion to protect those I hold dear, by any means necessary. I walk up to one of the girls and tell them I accept these powers. The girl holds her hand to my head, I suddenly feel strong. Everything in the world is under my control.

Daniel:
A dream of a mysterious man in an orange gi surrounded by a dark sky and a golden dragon. He tells me about a terrible future, but that I can save my world. He says that many others were given powers like me and most of which are people I know. He tells me the dragon behind him was the one who gave me communication with him. He says that the powers I have received will change the future for the better. He tells me to watch out for a girl who can move things with her mind. He says she rules the future and that there is no one left to stop her. I don't understand. It must be just a dream, nothing more.

Chapter Two: The Future's Hope

I think I'm all set. I need to go see if those who have the powerful ki are worthy of being protectors of Maryland.
"Aster, I'm going out for a bit." Aster was my sparring partner, rival, and my only friend. We took care of each other since our master had been dead.
"Don't be long." He called
First one, Daniel Zwarton. What a strange name. Oh well.
"Hello, is this Daniel's house?"
"That would be me. I'm Daniel. I'm sorry, have we met before." A boy my age said, staring at me.
"Come with me." I grabbed his hand and started to drag him out of his house.
"Hey, at least take me out to dinner first before you start dragging me out of my house." The way he joked made me wanna hit him, so I did. Knocked him out too. This one's strange. I sense saiyan ki in him, yet he's human. Aster will figure this out, I'm sure of it.
"Aster, I got one. And he's strange." I was carrying him over my shoulder and I threw him down on a table.
"Can you be more careful, he may be what saves this world's future."
"C'mon, I've inherited master Sukehiro's abilities. Aren't I all we need to stop whatever will come our way." I'm certain I will change the future. Master Sukehiro warned me of what might come and I will stop it.
"I don't feel like arguing right now. How is he strange. Oh, I see. This one is capable of saiyan abilities and yet he's human. Hmm. Let's see what he can do once he wakes up."
"He seems to be awake now." I said, noticing his eye was open
"Ow. Why'd you hit me? Where am I? Who are you? I have so many questions."
"And if you want to get hit again, you'll keep asking." I was starting to get annoyed by all the questions.
"What my ill tempered friend meant to say was that you are a very important person. Have you noticed anything different about your life as of late? Dreams, strange goings on, anything?" Aster had a nicer way of saying it maybe, but my way was more effective.
"I've had a recurring dream lately. Telling me I have some sort of special powers. A man in orange with a golden dragon. He says that I'll change the future or something. It sounds like nonsense to me. I'm not really anything special." The way Daniel talked almost made me feel sorry for him, almost.
"Well, we need to make sure. If you would please follow us, we need to run a few tests. Not lab tests, but ability tests. To, of course, test your strength in battle." Aster wasn't making a great case on why he should follow, but I guess seeing as he didn't have many options, he followed.
"Can you fly?" I asked to break the silence.
"What? Of course not. Why would I?"
"I think he can Isa. He just doesn't know it yet. Come, this way. The training grounds aren't that far now." Aster showed the way as we walked down these empty corridors.
Let me tell you one thing. This kid was nothing special. He can't fight, he can't fly, and he can't even wield a sword right. The endless sparing seemed useless. He was getting tired of getting his butt kicked but then I said something that set him off.
"Kid, you're useless. You can't even hold a sword properly. You don't deserve a place on this earth let alone a place saving it. You're trash."
The kid started to break down. He went off in rage as I started to notice something. His hair started flickering yellow as a powerful aura surrounded him catching me off guard. He screamed as loud as he could as his hair turned from a messy dark brown to a spiked up and tall yellow. The legends were true. It was told once that when saiyans experience a certain amount of emotional stress that they can't handle, they go through a transformation called super saiyan. This multiplies their strength by 10 and are formidable in battle. He just stared at me though, with this glare that I can't get out of my head. It was insane. I was shaking just at the sight of his glare. Aster had no words and just stood there dumbfounded. What came next was unexpected. He just flew at me and I mean he actually flew at me sending a barrage of punches, most of which I couldn't avoid. He was thrown into a blind rage. He had no control, as it was when a saiyan first transforms.
"I'm not weak! I will end you!" This kid scared me. I couldn't get out of the way of his rage, couldn't dodge, couldn't run, couldn't fight back. My dark magic was useless if I didn't have time to use it. And forget using my swords, my brain could barely have enough time to process what was going on. "THE ANGER, THE SADNESS, EVERYTHING YOU HAVE MADE ME FEEL HAS ONLY MADE ME STRONGER!!!"
All I saw next was Aster injecting him with something that knocked him out, returning his hair back to a messing dark brown. We both were to tired to move and became unconscious.

Chapter Three: A Villain Strikes
All of the screaming attracted a 17 year old named Shaun. He decided to investigate.
I knocked on the door and to my surprise a boy not too much younger than me answered. He explained that his father had dropped a hammer on his toe, but I wasn't buying it. I asked if I could go inside.
"It's top secret buddy." He said
"Wait Aster, I thought you said only people with special powers could even get to this place. How did he get in?" Asked a girlish voice coming from another room.
"Hmm. Get in here. Quickly!" He rushed me in the house and double checked to make sure I wasn't followed.
As another surprise, I noticed my friend Daniel sleeping on a table. He looked like he was in rough shape.
"What did you do to him? Did he take some fluorescent shrooms?" I asked
"What?" Both of them asked very confused.
"Inside joke. I was kidding."
"Well, if you wanna know what happened to your friend, he was actually beating the crap outta me." She said this with the most frightened expression on her face.
"I never thought of Daniel as a lady killer, but whatever. Wait, Daniel isn't that strong, how did he beat you up?" I asked
"We can only share this with you once you show Isa and I your special ability." Said Aster
"Give me a random item." Aster handed me a pencil. Simple. I turned the pencil from a regular brownish to a vast variety of colors.
"You must be the third ki I sensed." Said Isa. This gave them proof I was different and they explained everything.
Completely distracted from the second ki source, the evil Gillian had time to work out her plan.
Alright, this'll be easy. I'll walk over to his house, take him, and make him mine.
"Hey Ryan, can you come over to my house today?" I asked nervously
"Sorry Gillian, I have plans today." He said
"Sorry won't cut it. You're coming with me!" I lifted him into the air with my telekinesis and took him to my house. I tied him to a chair.
"You won't leave until you tell me that you love me!" I left him alone in the basement until he would tell me that he loved me.
"I must get out of here. My phone!" I sent a text to Daniel, it said, "Help, Gillian's gone crazy. She has me locked up in her basement. She has telekinetic powers or she can trick your mind. Or both. It doesn't matter. Help!"
Off at Isa and Aster's house, the four had continued training. Aster and Isa told Daniel what happened to him and how powerful he really was.
"I got a text, hold on." It took me sometime to open my laggy IPad. I really need a phone. "Ryan's in trouble. We have to save him! This is my chance to use my strength in battle."
"But you don't know how to transform back into a super saiyan yet. You aren't ready." Aster said.
"It doesn't matter, my friend is in trouble. I have to go."
"I'm going to." Shaun said
"Me to." Isa said
"Uhh, we're all gonna die. I'm in." Aster said.


Chapter 4: A Legend Unleashed Once More
"We have to stop Gillian. She was crazy before but not like this." I wasn't very confident that we could stop her, but I had to try. "Am I ready?"
"If you could bring out the power you showed before, yes. But, right now, I have no clue. We've never faced anything like this before." Isa looked worried and scared.
"C'mon guys, we got this. It's four against one. The odds are in our favor." Shaun we trying to be optimistic.
"Thanks for letting us catch a ride in your car Shaun." Aster said
"This is probably the only way I can help. My power isn't very useful." Said Shaun
"Isa, you're powerful. You will be able to handle this, right?" I asked
There was a long pause and then a sigh.
"I don't know, I really don't." There was another pause. "I thought I'd be the one to save our future, I thought I'd be the hero. But, if this is the threat that our master warned us about, then I'm not sure." Isa looked sad. Like her dreams had been crushed.
We arrived at Gillian's house. We had a plan. We used the same technology used to cloak the house to cloak Gillian's, so no civilians would get in the way.
"Alright, I'll be out here. Get in there, get Ryan, and get out. Don't start any unnecessary conflicts." Shaun said
"Right!" We all agreed. We didn't know what we were getting into, but we had to help our friend.
"This is the second large ki that I sensed. Be very careful." Isa said
Isa and Aster hid around the corner.
"Gillian, can I come in? I need help with some homework." I asked
"Sure Daniel. Although, I don't know why you're asking me for help." Gillian said. She said it as if nothing was wrong and everything was the same.
"So, It's with math. This new equation thing I just don't get." I said
"Alright, come this way." Gillian said. But, then something was wrong. I started floating. "Did you think I was that stupid. You've never come to my house, let alone come inside. Homework isn't why you're here, is it?" She started to choke me with her telekinesis alone.
"Please—we just want Ryan back." I barely could get out that sentence.
"How did you know?" She thought for a minute. "His phone! Well then." She lifted Ryan out of the basement. "So, you called him? What did you think he could do? He isn't gifted like me, he's useless, he can't fight. He's trash."
We had a backup plan if this didn't work. Which it didn't. Isa, Aster, and Shaun rushed in in time to see my hair once more flicker a yellow. But, something was different this time. There was little flickers of lightning as my hair took a different spiked up shape. It turned a full yellow, spiked up, and surrounded me with lightning bolt flickers. There was a different aura than before. It was more powerful.
"Oh, she's in for it." Isa said. She crossed her arms and a smile went across her face. "This is different though. He's more powerful than he was before. And he's not in a blind rage. It's like some sort of super saiyan 2."
The telekinesis wore off for now. Blood dripped out of Gillian's nose. The two stared at each other for a while.
"What? So, you dyed your hair yellow and you think that'll be enough to stop me?" Gillian threw her head back and laughed.
"You'll soon see that more than my hair has changed." Daniel said.


Chapter Five: A Secret Power unleashed
The battle went on as follows. Both of us showed full strength. However, Gillian wasn't looking like the victor. I had her against the wall, but my stamina was mostly drained. She put up a good fight. I have to end it now. I flew towards her about to punch when out of nowhere, a creature I can't even describe comes out from behind me. All I know is that it took Gillian away back behind Shaun.
"What the—." I turned around to see Shaun smiling and Isa and Aster jumping back to my side.
"Sorry, that's not how this is gonna go. Gillian, you did well. Save your strength, I got this. When the time comes, I'll let you get your revenge." Shaun said.
"What's going on? Shaun, is this some joke?" I was so confused. I don't understand.
"Apologies once more, Daniel. Allow me to introduce you. This one here is Hi-Vo. Think of him as a dino-like creature. He has a child-like nature. And these—" He started drawing in his notebook and his drawings came to life! How has he hid this from us this whole time. "This is Slizzik, a green reptile with wings, claws, and a tail. He's very intelligent. And this is Aegis, he's my red and white robot, very blunt."
"I don't understand." Isa and Aster just stood there, studying the creatures.
"Well maybe some of us got more than one power and maybe some of us don't wanna be the good guy. I happen to be both of these." Shaun said.
"What do you plan to do with them?" Isa asked.
"Well, here's how it's gonna go. Hi-Vo, you're fighting Daniel. Aegis, you're fighting Aster. And Slizzik, your fighting Isa. Beat them, and return to me. Imma go rob the Crispy Cream. Byee." And then he just left. He took Gillian and Ryan with him too.
"Hi friends. So this is how this is gonna work. We're gonna battle like we're in a tournament. One battle at a time. So, first up is Slizzik versus Isa. Yay! I can't wait." The one called Hi-Vo said. He really is a child.
Isa and Slizzik stared at each other for awhile. "Man of few words, I see."
"Actually, he doesn't talk at all." Why does Hi-Vo look so happy? None of this is right. I have too many questions with little to no answers.
"I suggest you run little girl. Slizzik is the most powerful out of us all, although he may not look it. You don't stand a chance." Aegis said. Shaun was right, he was very blunt. Whatever creatures Shaun left us with aren't going to be taken down so easily.
"I told you we were all gonna die and no one listened." Aster said.
"Hey Aster—" Isa tried to say before she was interrupted.
"I've got an idea! Since you lot are shivering in your boots just looking at us, why don't we give you 2 days to prepare. Yellow hair, you look very tired. Go on home, get some rest before our fight. I want it to be a good one." Hi-Vo said. Sadly it was true, my stamina had been mostly drained.
"Daniel, can you fight?" Asked Aster.
"I don't think so. Oh, there I go." I stoped flying and fell to the ground. My hair reverted back to its original messy color.
"You'd better not destroy anything or anyone. Because if you do, I will personally kill you." Isa said, as we walked back to her house. They both had to help carry me there because I was almost unconscious from my fight with Gillian. And with no car, it was a long walk.
"Hey, Slizzik. You have to fight her. What fun, am I right?" Hi-Vo said with a smile.
"It's not gonna be an easy fight Slizzik, but, I think you can win. If you lose, our plan crumbles and master Shaun won't be so happy with us." Aegis said. Slizzik just stared for a moment, then nodded.


Chapter Six: A Tournament's Beginning
I'm gonna be honest, I don't think we can do it. Those creatures, those vial, disgusting creatures look way stronger than any super saiyan or dark magic can handle. I'm up against Slizzik tomorrow. He's supposedly the strongest one out of them all. I have to do this. This is my chance to show my true power. I'm not sure if i can pull this off, but I'll have to try. Daniel's pretty much back to full strength and Aster has been honing his own skills. Daniel will have an easy time against Hi-Vo. He doesn't seem serious enough to land a punch. Me and Aster though have it rough though. I have to face a reptilian creature with wings, claws, and a tail. Not to mention he's supposedly the strongest and most intelligent of the group. Aster has to fight a robot, and on further inspection, has impenetrable armor. Something is off about them though. They don't seem to have any ki. Meaning that they shouldn't be anywhere near the level of us.
"There has to be a way to become stronger quickly. There just has to be." Daniel said.
I have yet to show my true power. The ki of that form is unbelievable but there is one problem. It drains my stamina so I can't use it for long. I've only been able to pull it off once before when I was sparing with Aster. But even then I couldn't beat him. Aster has always been one step ahead of me. He's stronger than even a super saiyan 2 can handle. But still, I have no clue how he's gonna get past the robot's impenetrable armor. I guess we'll have to find out. We came back to Gillian's house and there they were.
"Hi friends!" Hi-Vo was as happy as he was yesterday.
"You're not our friends. You're far from it." Aster said folding his arms.
"Oh, okay." Hi-Vo looked so sad, I almost felt bad for him. Almost.
"Well, let's get on with it. No need to procrastinate any longer. You. Reptile. I'm gonna kill you." I'm done messing around, I'm going to kill him.
"Go Slizzik. Win for us or our plan shatters." Said Aegis.
The battle was a hard one. Neither of us could land a hit on each other but I have yet to use my new form.
"You're a tough one, aren't you." I said. Slizzik just stood there glaring at me.
"Go Isa! You can win! You can beat him!" Aster and Daniel were cheering me on from the sidelines. Thanks guys.
Something happened and I don't know what, but he suddenly got faster. Then, he finally landed a hit on me. A claw straight into my back.
"AHHHHH." It really hurt. I know I have to use it. But I'm not sure how. I started to concentrate all of the dark magic into my back. Then into my arms. Then it happened. Dark magic took the form of wings on my back, granting me the ability to fly. My arms split into two and new arms grew from each side, giving me four arms. A sword infused with dark magic appeared in each arm. My wounds automatically healed up. And to top it off, I had been granted granted a second face on the back of my head, allowing me to see what's behind me at all times. He's in for it now.
"Holy crap. What is that form!?!?" Daniel said. I just looked over and smiled
"I've only seen this once before. She's really trying her hardest." Aster said. Daniel just looked at him and nodded, pretending to understand.
"You're in for a world of pain, my friend." I said with a smile. I appeared behind him catching him off guard. Four nice slices to the back. Then one big one to his wings. Step one completed. As he was falling to the ground, I grabbed him by the leg and tore it off by infusing some of my dark magic in my hands to make claws. My stamina is draining. This form is used for quick battles only. To slow that process, I reverted back to having just two arms. I made one big katana out of dark magic and with my wings I flew towards him. Helpless, he looked to his friends. They couldn't help him now, I thought. Then Hi-Vo jumped in and I almost hit him when Daniel jumped in and knocked him back.
"I don't think so!" Daniel said.
Then, with one last thrust of my sword, I cut him clean in half and he was no more. I reverted back to my original form and went back to my side. Most of my stamina was gone.
"Aster, take care of Isa. It's my turn to kick this dinosaur back to the Stone Age." Daniel said with a smile.

Chapter Seven: Mysterious Heroes Come to the Rescue
Daniel, not knowing how to transform into a super saiyan without emotional trauma yet, had to fight in his base form. The battle didn't start out well. Hi-Vo more often than not was winning. Daniel, in fact, was losing terribly.
"Oh well. I guess I have no choice." I stood up, limping for a moment. "Now I'll show you the result of my training." Ki literally shot out of my hands as I fired them at Hi-Vo.
"Oh, interesting." Hi-Vo said. He was surrounded by a thick cloud of dust from the ki blasts. I went in for a punch to his jaw. It seemed to have done some major damage, but then Hi-Vo turned his face back at me and smiled. "Good try, but without your super whatever form, you're nothing. Have fun getting beat up." Hi-Vo smilled. For the next 10 minutes, he tossed me around, beat me up, and I'm pretty sure that all of my bones are broken. As sad as it was, I'm useless in my base form. Isa wasn't yet at full strength. Far from it actually. It's kinda funny in a sad way, but it seems that Asters gonna have to help carry us both, if we make it out of here that is. He was about to go in for the killing blow, but a figure appeared out of nowhere and came to my rescue.
"Fus Ro Dah!" With a great shout, Hi-Vo was blasted back. Somehow, I kinda figured who it was and smiled.
"So it seems we weren't the only ones gifted with powers." I smiled once more. "Thanks. I almost died." Hi-Vo may have beaten me, but he can't beat her.
"Did you think I was going to let you die? By the way, I just spoken the dragon language." It was Riley, my first friend in middle school. "Don't worry about your friend there. Grace has her covered." I looked over to see Grace healing Isa with some sort of green aura. "She has powers too. Some kinda magical hand signs that she calls jutsu. She can do so much, it's insane. We were mostly using our powers for fun, but we saw you guys and watched. You, uh, kinda got your butt kicked." She looked over and smiled at me.
"Heh. Yeah. About that. Apparently I haven't learned how to completely use my powers yet." It's sad, but true.
"And yet you through yourself right into battle." She shook her head. "I thought you were smarter than this." She smiled.
"Hey! I was about to win! Back off!" Hi-Vo was very angry.
"Sorry. You're gonna have to get through me first. Grace, help Daniel too. I'll handle this." Riley was getting cocky. Just like I was and look where I ended up.
"Right." Grace said with a nod. "Riley, don't lose. I don't wanna have to fight." Grace said, still healing me and Isa.
"Don't you worry Grace. This'll be easy." Riley said
"Riley, was it? Leave the robot to me. He's mine." Aster said, more determined than ever.
"Whatever. As long as I get to test my skills on this freak, you can have the robot all you want." Riley said. Hi-Vo jumped at her in anger. "Tiid Klo Ui!" Everything started to slow way down. Everything. Almost as if she was slowing down time with her voice. Everything but herself had slowed down. Riley took this time advantage to prepare another attack. "Lis Slen Nus!" Time returned to normal and Hi-Vo was frozen in an ice block.
"What?! This girl's insane! We are done for!" Aegis sounded scared for once. Strange, with this much power, how did Isa not detect Riley and Grace's ki.
"And to finish it off. Yol Toor Shul!" Flames shot out of her mouth as she spoke in the dragon language. The ice melted and Hi-Vo burnt to ash.
