I wake up to the sound of my alarm clock. It makes that beeping sound that drives you up the wall. I roll out of bed and go towards my dresser. I pick out a sparkly purple top with no sleeves, a pair of dark blue jean shorts, and my white sandals. I put my hair up in a pony tail. I take one last look in my mirror I keep next to my bed. I see a girl with bright blue eyes and brown hair staring back at me.
Today is the first day of school. Yay...
"Ashley, breakfast is ready," my mom yells from the kitchen.
"Coming," I reply.
I run towards the kitchen and sit at the table. Mom cooked pancakes and bacon, my favorite! I eat all of it and get my back pack. I look outside the window and see the bus.
"Bye mom," I yell.
I open the front door and run towards the bus. I get on and sit next to my friend, Jessica. I call her Jess.
"Hey," She says.
"Hey," I reply.
"You ready for another school year?"
"Yeah, sure."
"Toby said he was going to meet us at the cafeteria."
"Okay."
After the conversation, the bus was letting us get off. I'm going into 8th grade this year, so this so be fun. *Note the sarcasm*
Jess and I get off the bus and stay in the cafeteria. I notice Toby, so I go over to him. Toby and I have known each other as long as kindergarten. Him and I are good friends. He'd do anything for me.
I look at his green eyes and his very dark hair. He always tries to look good, and he does.
"Hey," I say.
"Hey," He replies.
We stand there in silence. Talk about an awkward moment.
"We better get our schedules," I tell him, breaking the silence.
"Yeah," He says.
We walk over to the table that's giving out the schedules and grab mine and Toby's. I look at the schedule.
1st period: Life Science
2nd: Math
3rd: study hall
4th: Language Arts
Lunch
5th: Language Arts continued
6th: gym
7th: technology
8th: U.S. history
I look at Toby's schedule. We have gym and study hall together. Cool. I look over and see Jess getting hers. She gets it and comes towards us. I let her look at my schedule as I look at hers. Jess and I both have technology together. I like to have classes with my friends. I think it's always good to be able to talk to your friends.
"We better get to our lockers," Jess says.
"Okay, bye Toby," I say.
He waves good bye and heads the opposite direction as me and Jess go. We get to our lockers. They're right beside each other, so we can see each other more often. I put my back pack in my locker and head towards 1st period.
