Chapter 19

Andreah's POV

My mom wasn't home. I figured she'd be at the hospital. I decided to call her and let her know I'm ok, she was probably worried sick.

I rummaged through the study desk for moms hospital number.

I dialled the number and waited for the ringtone.

Yes! It's ringing, finally.

"You calling mom?" Aly asked.

I nodded just as she answered.

"Hello?" My mothers voice answers.

"Hey mom"

"Sweetie Are you ok, you don't understand how worried sick I was about you...is your sister alright? Where were you last night? Why didn't you call?"

"Mom, calm down. Were both fine, we were all at Reece's house when the storm hit, he was nice enough to let us stay the night, plus there was no line at all, the storm must of interfered with the wires, I'm sorry we worried you, are you ok?"

"Yes sweetheart I'm alright, had to do an overnight shift but I'll be coming home soon"

"Ok mom love you bye" I say and hang up.

"Is she alright?" Aly asked plopping down on the couch beside me.

"Yeah she had an overnight shift"

She nodded then stood up and walked upstairs.

I looked at the clock and saw it was nearly midday. Perfect time to go for a jog.

I quickly ran upstairs and changed into some shorts and a white sports top. I wore my converse and grabbed my earphones and headed back downstairs.

"I'm going for a job be back soon" I shouted to my sister.

I decided to go for a jog to the park that's just down the street.

I plugged in my earphones which is connected to my phone and the music from my playlist blared through the speakers.

As I was jogging I noticed a guy has been walking behind me since I left my house.

I pressed pause on my playlist and fastened my pace. Who is this sicko? I don't want to look back cos then I'll slow my self down.

I could hear him fastening his pace so I began jogging even faster.

Then I heard the guy call my name.

I spun around and saw Brad.

"You scared me!" I clutched my heart with my hand. "Why were you following me?"

"I'm sorry. I've been calling your name since you left your house but you weren't answering I thought something's up" he replied back.

"I had my earphones in" I hold up my earphones for him to see.

"I'm sorry if I scared you I just saw you and wanted to say hi" he explained giving me a smile.

"It's ok" I smile back. "You jogging too?"

"Yeah I usually go for jogs everyday" he says walking beside me. "Where were you headed?"

"I usually jog to a park down the road"

"Mind if I join you?" He asks politely.

"Sure" I nod and he continues walking beside me.

As we get to the park I notice a icecream truck has parked.

I could so go for an icecream right now.

As if reading my mind Brad asked "Would you like one?"

I shyly nodded and he smiled taking my hand and walking me to the truck.

I got to say Brad is cute.

He and Reece look alike a lot but Brad is obviously older and more muscular.

I still think Reece is hotter. There's just something about Reece that I love.

He's sweet, he's caring, he's everything I didn't expect him to be.

I mean when people used to speak about Reece I always got the impression that he was a heartbreaker and a jerk, maybe he was but now he's different, and I like it.

"What flavour do you like?" Brad asked.

"Umm I'll have strawberry thanks"

Brad got chocolate for himself. The man handed us our icecreams and we walked back to a bench.

"So you likin-"

"How lon-"

We both spoke at once.

We both laughed at the awkward moment.

"You go first" he offered.

"It's silly, I was going to ask how your liking it here but it's only your first day".

He smiles "Its ok I mean besides the horrible storm last night, I got to see my brother again...and I met you"

I smile looking away because I think I'm blushing and I can't let him see me blush.

"Oh look there's Reece" Brad announced pointing behind me.

I turn around and see him. He can't see me because his not facing my way.

Then what I see next makes my heart drop.

Gloria sneaks up from him, wraps her arms around him and smashes her lips against his.

I felt like I have been stabbed in the heart with a knife.

I feel dizzy and unsteady at that sight.

I wanna cry, I want to run away and cry like the big baby that I am.

"I thought Reece said he didn't have a girlfriend" Brad said in a confused way.

"Yeah....I thought so too" I say trying to keep myself from crying.

"Can you walk me home please?"

"Sure" he stand ups quickly and holds my hand.

We both walk back to mine in silence.

I can't believe I ever thought he liked me.

I can't believed I confessed that I have a crush on him.

I can't believe he kissed her.

I thought that he broke it off but I was wrong.

I was probably just a game to him. He thought it'd be fun to pretend to be my friend and care for me when he really wanted to hurt me.
