He looked at me with crazed desperation. It almost radiated off of him in waves.

I struggled to form a single sentence.

"A-are you okay? Can I get yo--"

"I used to live in your house." 

His bloodshot eyes darted around rapidly before rolling backwards. His lean body fell to the ground.

I screamed, turned around, trying to see if anyone else had seen what just happened. 

The street was vacant of any life whatsoever.

I pulled my phone out of my pocket, ready to dial 911.

Turning back around, I saw that he was no longer on the ground.

In fact, he was nowhere to be found.
