chapter 4

I wake up to screaming and fighting. I look over at my brothers, well except for otterkit who is  in the medicine den. I see that they are all ok so I look to were firefoot was gaurding the entrance. I walk over and ask calmly, "mom can i please go out there to help shadowpelt and nightdream with the hurt cats?" She looks at me concern in her eyes before saying, "yes but please be careful, your only a kit." With that I walked out, I saw Owleye trying to drag a unconcious Oakfoot to the medicine den. I rushed over and started to help, Owleye glanced at me then firefoot and nodded to her. Firefoot came over and started helping us so pretty soon we got oakfoot into the medicine den. I saw a lot of cats in there most of them unconcious. I start to get herbs and help those whose wounds aren't as bad, the ones that could still fight I would send out after healing them some. After a while Shadowpelt came over to me and nodded at me. I kept helping until the fight was over and most of Thunderclan and windclan was in the medicine den. I heard my mom calling for me so I leave the medicine den and walk over to her. "Thank god your fine whitekit, I was so worried that I almost let one of them into the nursury, luckly stonekit came and helped me. Well we need to go to sleep, your brothers woke up and were causing trouble inside of the nursury. Not to happy to be cooped up all day. Ok just lets go to the nursury." She says so fast that I barely caught what she was saying. I followed her back to the nursury, curled up by her and fell asleep.

A week later

"Anyone old enough to catch their own prey gather by the fallen tree for an important celebration!" I hear father call. After everyone was there he continued. "Today we welcome some of our own apprentices to become warriors. Icepaw, firepaw, halfpaw, and blackpaw pleasw stap forward. Blackpaw you will now be known as Blackpelt, Icepaw you will now be known as Iceclaw, firepaw you will now be known as Firemane, and halfpaw you will now be known as halfear. You four will have you vigil tonight in silence." He stops so that the clan can call out their names, once they settle down he says. "We have one more ceremony to do today, my kits are turning into aprentices, along with swiftdawns own two kits. Whitekit, waspkit, leafkit, rustkit, otterkit, stonekit, and mosskit please step forward. Whitekit, shadowpelt asked me to make you her apprentice, I've already talked to you so you are now to be called whitepaw. Waspkit, your mentor will be sunspot, waspkit you are now wasppaw. Leafkit, your mentor will be frostflower, you are now leafpaw. Rustkit yoir mentor will be tigerfrost, you are now rustpaw. Otterkit your mentor will be ashenclaw, you are now otterpaw. Stonekit your mentor will be me, you are now stonepaw. Mosskit your mentor will be mosssnout, you are now mosspaw. Thats all now." When the cheers finally died down I headed to shadowpelt, who was near the medicine den. "So what are we doing today." I ask excitedly. "Well I was thinking about teaching you the last thing you need to know, deathberries, by then I figure that it would be sundown, time to go to the moontree too. Tonight we'll see if starclan accepts you as medicine cat apprentice." She tells me calmly. I nod and follow her into the medicine den. After a while she ended her explaining of deathberries and grabbed some herbs. "Why do we need to bring herbs with us." I ask in confusion. "Well on the last full moon the other medicine cats were low on catmint and we are the ones who have it, I gathered a ton of catmint sense we were out to. They also need chervil, comfrey, and dock. We happen to have a lot, and no i'm not just giving them the herbs we are trading, we needed watermint, feverfew, lavender, and stinging nettle. We are out of them all. So off we go." She tells me grabbing the herbs and heading out. I follow her carefully thinking, ~this is amazing, the smell, the trees, everything. I know I was here a while ago but that was when I was a kit, and I wasn't really paying attention to things around me then~ shadowpelt stoped when we met up with nightdream and swanpoppy, the riverclan medicine cat. I hear a russling in the bushes before a red eyed she cat and a small white and black tom came out of the bushes. The shadowclan medicine cat blazeeye and her apprentice birchpaw. They all look at shadowpelt who says, "hello, meet my new apprentice whitepaw. She just became an apprentice but she has been learning herbs sense she was very young by watching what I would do." I feel my ears get a bit hot when she says that. The other cats nodded and we continued on. ~oh geez why do my paws hurt already, we haven't walked that long even. This is a long journey, wonder how much further.~ we finally arived and I saw a tree that was glowing in the moonlight. The other cats put their noses on the tree and seemed to fall asleep. I already knew what to do so when shadowpelt gives me a nod I do the same. My eyes closed for a second before I knew that I was in the dream space. "Hello kit I am yellowfang, I cannot let you see me yet. I am here to remind you that you need to get maplestar and sunspot to go with you on the journey to windclan territory. Now I must go another cat is coming to you." I hear a voice coming from the bushes even though there is no cat there, I dont know how I know I just do. "Hello I'm silverstream, I came to accept you to become the medicine cat apprentice for Thunderclan. You will not see me for a long time. Dont forget that we will help you along the way for the prophecy, but you are still to young to know it. You have to wake now whitepaw." I heard another voice say before it went all black. I open my eyes, this time to the real world. I look around and see that I was the first to wake up. I sit up and start to groom myself. I hear someone else waking up so I look up and see that they are all waking up. Once they are all up shadowpelt come over to me to remind me that we only talk about our dreams when we get beck home. We started heading home right away so we could get there by sunrise. When we get to camp shadowpelt motions me to come to the medicine den. Once in the medicine den she asks me, "can you tell me about your dream." I nod and say, "I cosed my eyes and was taken into the dream, a cat named yellowfand told me that maplestar and sunspot had to come with us to windclan territory. Then a cat named silverstream came to welcome me and tell me that starclan would help me with my prophecy, and that I am too young to know it yet." She nods and says "my dream was just starclan telling me that you were the right cat to apprentice." She smiles to me before motioning me to go sleep. I lay down in my nest immediately falling asleep.
