"So what is this Chamber of Spades anyway?" I finally asked as we walked down the fifth flight of stairs underground. No answer. "Just ignore me then." I said putting on my jacket it once more, Just before a put on my right sleeve I looked at the hole in my hand and running up my arm the breakage of flesh still haunting me with a small sensitive feeling that reached my shoulders. As I put the jacket on I realised I had no shirt... I don't need it.

We reached a small corridor at the bottom of the stairs. The corridor only illuminated by small torches that gloomed a gold shade within the hallway. We made a left turn towards a giant stone door with engravings of spades, from a deck of cards. The door looked ancient with small chips in it.

"Help me move it." Portal whispered.

"Can't we just use a..." I got interrupted, this happens a lot.

"No. The door is sacred this is the only way in or out,"

"Fine." I sighed as I started to apply pressure on the stone door. The texture and the weight felt like concrete and it took several pushes to get it open.

As we walked in the door shut on itself. Why couldn't it move that quickly when we tried opening it?

"Follow me." Portal whispered once more. This Demon lords Vocabulary keeps getting smaller.

As we walked through the darkness, I spotted a light. It shined dimly but as I noticed what it was it seemed to be alive, with a soul. The light almost like a living organism was made up of two significant colours, a flaming yellow, and a soothing lavender. And as the sparks danced around the centre of the room I felt fascinated by the energy emitting from the spiral. The room glowed as the lights stood mid-air on a stone step. The room however wasn't made of stone, most of it seemed to be made of oak wood and the designs and patterns engraved all represented the same symbols written on Lavender's Cloak. Gateway.

"They complement each other." I whispered in amazement.

"Very good, this is the Chamber of Spades, where we keep the Basin of Creation within the kingdom." Portal announced proud of what laid before him.

"The Basin of Creation?" I asked intrigued by the name.

"The Basin of Creation is how light beings of the underworld are formed, all beings with a will to protect the Kingdoms and its foes."

"Sounds pretty neat, but if that's the case why was I born a human?"

"The Basin of Creation needs a host to create life... The only way to get a host is by infecting a mother to pass on the Genes to a child."

"So getting results would be easier if the child would be male because the X chromosome genes would be dominant?" I asked without thinking.

"In perspective yes, but at the same time more females make it back to the Basin alive... The thing about males is that they're easier to detect... because of the amount are created."

"That's pretty dark." I whispered.

"The host needs to make it back to the Basin, to gather its full potential."

"So this is how I become a full-fledged demon?"

"Yes but unfortunately for you is that you need to go to all four Basin's in the four Kingdoms of Protection. And if you die before then you won't be able to come back... The risk for creating new protectors is if they die. They get stuck in the void."

"The void?"

"It's a place many people dread, it's a place where souls go to die."

"Well that, isn't very reassuring."
