I am not the owner of the Harry Potter franchise. I in no way wish or intend to take credit for anything other than the plot of this- although I will once again reiterate this is simply inspired by the works of J.K. Rowling.

I am aware that things within the plot will not always add up. This is written by myself purely for enjoyment and entertainment. Due to this, and the fact each individual that reads this is unique, I've written this to the best of my ability by assuming what the majority of readers may choose as a variable in order to further the story. Bellow will be a list of assumptions and explanations as of what they are and why I chose them so, if you choose, you can potentially improve your reading experience by understanding further where my assumptions may interfere with the story if your preference does not align with my assumption.

My last point is that one aspect of this was decided by a vote. This vote took place in the last Author's note I wrote before publishing this as the start of the rewritten version of this fanfiction. I asked "yes or no" in the Author's note. This will go into effect when the first chapter comes up.

Feel free to continue reading past this rewritten section to read the unfinished original, which will be removed once the new version is completed.

Thank you to all my readers for reading this, especially those of you that had to deal with the trainwreck of an original.

Also, a special thank you to @chloe_sparkle for making my new cover. Although you made it a while ago for the original version, I believed I should use it for the new and hopefully improved version of Fred Weasley X Slytherin Reader.

Assumptions

Blood Purity: By assuming half-blood it allows the reader to have the muggle and wizard experience as a child. It is also the middle ground for blood purity.

Political Views: Not particular. I'd say believes in blood purity until she gets close with Fred. I may do a flashback of this, or I can do a short story if you all want one.

Why your parents are on the run: Muggle-born = all muggles are being hunted and you sent them away to be safe; Half-blood= one parent is safe and the other is not, but both hide for good measure; Pureblood= refuse to side with Voldemort/ betray him

Variations in the blood (Veela, Werewolf, etc.): None. I feel like this is a happy medium since there are multiple different outcomes. I feel it's better not to include it.

House Elves: She tries not to think about it. She's not currently in a position where she can do anything to help them, so she treats them nicely and plans to do more later.

Friends: She's befriended people from all houses, but her friends are mostly in Slytherin and Gryffindor.

Telling difference between twins: She didn't for a while. You'll see later. She usually just guessed and hoped for the best. In real life, being honest, none of us probably can so I'm not only being realistic, but I'm also avoiding a cliche/trope.

Quidditch: She's a beater because of a few reasons. 1) I really like the idea of the position. 2) That's the twins' positions. 3) It's a position of significance besides the seeker.

Gender/Sexuality: I chose to make the insert reader aspect female and to focus solely on heterosexual/heteroromantic affections other than platonic ones. For Gender, I identify as a bisexual cis female, and I saw in this story's statistics, most readers are female. For Sexuality, I understand that some or many of you may be part of the LGBT+ community. I am not only respectful and supportive of you all, but also a member myself, this is a story about the pairing of you and Fred, a male. Thus, any other relationships, other than platonic are not mentioned.

Relationship with Draco: I'm basing the friendship between you and Draco after the friendships I have with my friend group. We're all very close and while you and Draco may be slightly closer, the general idea of it comes from my personal life.

Acronyms: I assume you know all the "y/n" and "y/nn" business. If not, feel free to send me a message and I'll edit this intro and include a small guide. If you comment asking what it means, I'll be sure to respond and I'm sure others will, too.
