Amelia Gonzalez
(Italics- spoken in spanish) (Abuela- grandma for those of you that don't know)
(Maria Gonzalez, Amelia's Grandma)
BEEP!! BEEP!! BEEP!! BEEP!! BE-
I slam my hand down on the off button on my alarm clock and sit up sluggishly, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. I get up go to my bathroom to take a shower. After I'm done and am wrapped snugly in my favorite towel I look in the mirror to take in my plain appearance. I have blemish free pale skin (which I worked hard for by the way), a button nose, full lips, and inky black hair that comes down to the bottom of my chest. The only thing about my appearance that is by no means plain is my big round ruby red eyes. Yes I said ruby red eyes. I love my eyes, and it makes me sad that every time I leave the house or when people come over I have to cover them. I sigh heavily and put in my brown colored contacts before doing the rest of my bathroom routine. (Amelia's red eyes)
Once I get dressed, I start gathering up my things when I hear my Abuela shout "Amelia, breakfast is ready, come eat before it gets cold!" I smile before I shout back "I'll be down in just a minute Abuela!" I hurry to gather the rest of my things before heading downstairs to eat.
When I get to the kitchen, I pour myself a glass of orange juice and pour Abuela a cup of coffee before sitting at the table. She turns to me with a sweet smile on her face. "Today we have Calentado! And you better enjoy it, I slaved over that damn stove to make it." She says with a little sass as she sets the plate in front of me, then sits across from me with her own plate.
