Listen, I've made up many stories, but none that had to do with them.

I never liked libraries. I always felt trapped in them.

They're creepy, surrounded by books (I like reading, don't get me wrong), which are mostly written by people who are dead.

Yet, I was here, with darkness surrounding me. What time is it? I slept!? I try to see the clock, but it's way too dark to decipher the numbers. I try to check my phone. Then I remembered I left it at home. Ugh. Right when I need it. Am I still asleep? I hold both my hands up to my face, and see the blue cast on my wrist, literally signed with names of everyone I know.

Except for one.

Speaking of her, she probably took ten pictures of me asleep and stupid, being the jerk she is.

Groaning. I pick my pick myself up, out of the sagging pillow that left the indents of my body. My eyes start to adjust, and all I see is books, a lot of them. Oh, shoot. I'm stuck in a library. Lina left me here. Wow. Jerk. I hear something echo.

"Hello?!?!"

Oh my god, someone's here!

"Uh. Hi? Where are you.?" I said, yelling

I slapped myself. I couldn't even see a clock, how could the person see where she is?

"By the checkout desk!"

Go figure.

"Uh... I'm coming?!" I slung my backpack over my good shoulder and started running.

I used my see-in-the-dark skills and fumbled my way to get to the checkout desk. I could see the kid (who was a girl) and her short black hair, tied in a bun, and the neon pink ring that couldn't be mistaken.

Lina.

"You!?!?!?!" We screamed simultaneously.

"It could be anyone, but it has to be you," she said, mockingly

"You don't have to work with me if we find a way out," I reasoned

"Work with you? Ohmygosh No. Just look at you! Dirt all over your sneakers, your hair is not in a bun, are you even a girl?!?" she nagged at me.

How dare she. Scanning myself, the dirt on my white Adidas from soccer, my hair was down and still had those faded red streaks in my hazel hair from homecoming. I had my "#Sushi" hoodie. You can insult me, but never sushi. Plus, who cares about hair buns?

"Whatever California, but you better get us out. It's your fault we're here," she said, looking at her cuticles

"It's Callie. You know I don't like my real name."

She rolled her eyes. Sadly, it was my fault we were here. My mom dropped us here to "hang out." I hate how she is oblivious to the fact Lina's not my friend anymore.

"We both fell asleep. So it is sorta your fault too." I calmly said.

She was already walking away, probably to go and blame some books.

"Wait! We have to stick together!" I yelled.

"You're right," she said quietly, ashamed of her mistake.

So we walked together, side by side, just like a few months ago, when we were friends.

"Can we check the doors? I want to get out of here." Lina whined.

"I get it, okay? I want to get out of here too."I reply back.

We both walked by the doors. I expected Lina to try to open the door, but she didn't. Was she mocking me because of my cast? Anyone knows that I can't open doors with one hand, especially cuz' I don't have much balance after "The Fall."

"Are you gonna open it? I can't ya know."I stated

"I don't want to ruin my nails. But fine, you need special treatment because you got a boo boo." Lina sneered. Suddenly, I see her face soften.

"Sorry. I know I shouldn't make fun of someone's injuries" she said, under her breath.

She faced the door, and slowly tried opening it without damaging her manicure. Did she just admit her mistake? She was nice!

"Great it doesn't open. It's locked." she sighed.

So we both turned around, looking for new exits.

"Windows! There has to be some open."I suggested, chewing my lip

She sashayed to the windows. Okay. Fine. Leave me here.

"EWWWWWWWWWWWWW!" She shrieked

It looks like I'm going to be deaf. I started running to her voice

What?"I muttered, panting.

"There's dust everywhere! My clothes are going to be disgusting!" She still screamed."Now I'm hungry and covered in dust!"

I bit my lip. We aren't going to get anywhere if this happens. None of us can get out.

We (finally!) reached the windows.

Locked. This library is super protective. Thanks, mom.

I listened to Lina whine about how hungry she was (so was I) as we walked to find more windows that we hoped to be unlocked.

"This library is way too big," I said to no one, biting my lip again. We are stuck. Oh boy.

"And we had to go to another library, instead of the one closer to us" she irritatedly said.

" My mom had to go out of town anyway. She dropped us here to 'make it more interesting.' Is this interesting enough?!?"

"UGH. , CALLIE. I CAN'T EVEN. WHY CAN'T YOU GO AWAY! YOUR COMMENTS DON'T HELP AND YOU HERE IS MAKING ME NERVOUS! I HATE YOU. I HATE MYSELF! I HATE YOU. I HATE YOU!" She fumed. Her whole face was red and blotchy.

Shocked, I fell back, landing on my backpack. Oh gosh. I never wanted to annoy her. Lina must hate me so much. I look up and see the last of her, as she went to the magazine area.Is she even the same person? The same person who told me her secrets? The one who would be the other person on the seesaw? The same person I knew would catch me in a trust fall, without prior notice? The same person that everyone knew I was partners with, even the teachers would not even ask? She's the same person who says that she hates me. It hurts even more than any other insult.

So here I am, stuck in a library, lost on who I am.
