There once was girl who felt broken
Lost in a world full of lust
Who wasn't unable to love
But scared of who to trust
Not many knew what she felt like
She felt quite alone and scared
This girl had no one to talk too
And for relationships she was unprepared
She was a hopeless romantic
On many she had had a crush
Yet she feared if she pursued a sweetheart
She might get a lover with a wandering touch
She longed for cuddles and comfort
But knew reciprocation was rare
She had found most boys wanted only one thing
And she never wanted to go there
There once was a girl who was happy
A girl who found a community, a home
And finally she held her flag up high
With people of her own
But people scoffed and rolled their eyes
Thinking what they knew was true
They sought to invalidate her identity
All her confidence crashed to the ground
And her uncertainty, to the sky, it flew
She wanted to walk on pride day
But in the closet she stayed
While others around her were thriving
They laughed and loved and played
This little girl still isnt out and proud
In the closet she still has to hide
But I hope that my dream and fantasys
Will help fund the safety of pride.
