chapter 4 Annabel and Sam.

When Annabel finally decided on what to put on, she quickly rushed to bathroom.

She was still in the bathroom,  when she heard a knock at the main door that lead to the living room.
and then she heard footsteps which she knew was Emily's, going to get the door.

Emily, opened the door and saw Sam. She moved from the door so Sam could enter inside and after that, went to inform her sister about the arrival of her visitor…

Sam was seated with his leg cross comfortably in the living room, when Annabel came out to meet him.

Sam was looking very handsome as usual and his outfit complimenting his looks.

“I am very sorry for keeping you waiting” “Don’t worry about that pretty” Sam replied smiling.
“you look gorgeous”
“Thanks” Annabel responded forging a smile also.
“Shall we” he asked her?
“Yes" Annabel responded and then turn to waved her sister goodbye, asking her to lock the door as soon as they leave.

Emily still standing at the door, watched her sister and her date leave before she locked the door and went back to her room.

Annabel kept her eyes fixed on the road not wanting to involve in any conversation with Sam.
She knew she was definitely going to get into one with him when they get to their destination.
But she decided to use the time of silence in the car to make preparations.

Her thought took her back to those times Jack had taken her out.
She knew if it was jack, the car would have been full of life and laughter. She smiled to herself when she remembered something, and then Sam turned and looked at her.
He asked her if she was ok.
Annabel told him she was fine and then he turned his face away from her and concentrated on the driving.

Yet, Annabel nnabel couldn’t stop herself of thinking just how perfect it would have been if jack had been the one sitting next to her.
Sam didn’t say anything to her anymore, they drove in total silence till they got to their destination…

Few minute after, Annabel and Sam had made their orders, and the waitress had finish attending to them.
Annabel was eating her food when she noticed Sam starring at her intensively. She tried to ignore, but she couldn't. It was making her uncomfortable.

“Why are you looking at me that way” Annabel asked after summoning great courage.
Sam did not respond to her question at first. He just kept staring at her.

His direct and unblinking stare made her body shiver. her mind was racing as he studied her silently.
refusing to fall into the trap and temptation of blurting out something stupid in other to break the uncontrollable and uncomfortable silence that had taken dominion over them, Annabel thrust out her chin, waiting for him to say something, or get ready for them to remain that way.

But still, Sam didn't say a word. when it was clearly known to her that Sam was not going to say anything to her, she spoke again.
But this time, she tried to be confident, when she rememberd that men in authority could be sometimes intimidated by confident women.
Though Sam didn’t look like the type to be easily intimidated by anyone even her.
But there was no harm in trying...

“Are you going to keep staring at me this way, untill we leave this place?”
She kept her fork and sat properly to get a close view of him, given him back a hard and uncompromising look in return.

“So why were you interested in seeing me today?"

Sam took his glass to his lips,  and sipped slowly. He was trying to suppress the laughter that was threatening to come out.
