PROLOGUE (Middle School)~

"Hey look it's the geek that smells bad!"

"She's disgusting! Why does she even come to school?"

"Can you see me with those tiny slits for eyes?"

Just ignore the voices and the pain. Keep walking to class with your head down. Don't stop moving. Keep heading towards your destination.

"Where do you think you're going chinese face?"

Oh no. It's Devin Wright. I'm not even chinese. I'm going to be late for class and Mr. Burns is going to yell at me again. Just hurry up, beat me up, and take my homework so I can get to class.

"YOU LET GO OF HER! DON'T YOU DARE LAY A FINGER ON HER!" It was the cry of my hero. Harry Styles my best friend.

"Whatcha going to do Styles? Make my hair a bird's nest? Oh wait. You already have that covered." Devin growled.

"Not a chance Wright. I'll show you what I'm going to do." Suddenly Harry punches Devin in the face and they get into a fist fight. A crowd had formed around us and the principal was pushing through the crowd.

"ENOUGH! Mr. Wright, Mr. Styles, and Ms. Lee, follow me to my office now." Mrs. Hucklefin said.

Harry had gotten a black eye and a bloody nose and Devin also got a black eye and a bloody lip. I was unharmed. At Mrs. Hucklefin's office Devin was assigned in school suspension for 2 days while Harry and I were given out of school suspension for 4 days.

We all left the office and Devin whispered in my ear, "You're lucky your little friend Styles was here chinese face. Next time you won't be so lucky." With that he left, leaving me even more scared and afraid.

Harry and I walked home and we stayed at my house because my parents were at work. I fixed up Harry's wounds and made him drink some orange juice for vitamin c.

"You really didn't have to do that Haz. Now your face is all banged up." I said with tears in my eyes.

"Nah. It's all good. I'm your best friend and that's what best friends are for. Plus, I'm still the best looking guy you've ever met." Harry said with a wink. He was so sweet and then he had to be cheeky in the end. I laughed a little.

"Thanks Hazza. I don't know what I would do without you." I embraced him into a bear hug, while crying.

"I'll always be there for you Elise. I'm never going to leave your side" He said hugging me back.

ELISE POV~

We flung our caps in the air and cheered! I was finally done with high school! I was going to my dream university to study medicine. Cambridge University, UK where only the best of the best go. My parents expected me to get in and if I didn't....I don't even want to think about it.

"ELISEEE!!!! WE FINALLY GRADUATED!!"

I was grinning because only one person could be screaming at me and that one person was Joyce.

"I KNOW JOYCE! WE FINALLY GET OUT OF THIS SCHOOL!" I said with as much enthusiasm as Joyce.

Her face that was lit up suddenly fell.

"BUT THAT MEANS I WON'T SEE YOU EVERYDAY ANYMORE!" She said with teary eyes.

"Don't worry Joyce. I'll hang out with you like all the time over summer because we're neighbors silly!" I said giggling as realization dawned on her face. Her face once again plastered with a smile.

"Oh yeah! This is why you're the smart one and I'm not!" We both started bursting out laughing.

She totally makes the stereotype dumb blonde category, but Joyce was smart. Joyce was a book smart, but when it came to common sense, that was her downfall.

I started searching for my parents with Joyce and I was bombarded with compliments, goodbyes, and I'll miss yous.

"Going to miss you so much Elise!"

"Looking good in that robe Elise! See yah around!"

"I love you Elise! Hope to see you again soon!"

I replied back politely with thank yous and I'll miss you toos. I might be well known in school but I'm not stuck up.

I found my parents and ran to them embracing them both in a bear hug.

"I love you guys so much and I couldn't have done this without you guys!"

"My baby girl's all grown up now." Dad said with tears in his eyes.

"Sweetie, We're going to miss your bubbliness in the house." Mom said with a smile but her eyes watering.

Lastly, my little sister was holding a bouquet of flowers and gave them to me as she cried.

"I'm going to miss you Elise! Who's going to play with me when you're gone? Ms. Princess will be lonely without you!"

Sarah was bawling now hugging me like today was the last day she would ever see me again. She's only 7. Ms. Princess is her favorite doll that she lets me use to play tea party with her.

"Sarah don't cry! I'm not going anywhere yet and I'm still going to play with you bunches!" I said laughing.

She stopped crying and asked, "Do you really mean it Sis?"

"Yes. With all my heart."

LIAMS POV~

"Louis could you please stop jumping around like a lunatic? You're attracting unwanted attention!"

People were starting to stare and say "IT'S ONE DIRECTION!"

"Sorry Daddy Direction. I just had to let it out because MY HAZZA GRADUATED!" Louis emphasized the last part and kissed Harry on the cheek.

I sighed shaking my head at the kid. He's older than me but he doesn't act like it.

"Congrats Harry! Finally graduated man! Vas happenin' now?" Zayn said with hype and his signature line.

"Haz is a big boy now! Alright can we go eat now? I'm starving! That ceremony took way longer than it should've been." Said Niall with a look of hunger in his eyes.

"Congratualtions Harry! Let's go celebrate with a special dinner? Where you want to go Harry?"

"Thanks guys! I don't know where to go for dinner though." Harry said furrowing his eyebrows trying to think of a place to go to.

"Let's go to Nandos!" screamed Niall. Niall loves Nandos.

"Eh. Why not? Let's go!" Harry agreed.

We all started towards the van when a beautiful laugh filled the air. I stopped and looked for the source and saw a gorgeous girl hugging her sister. The little girl seemed like she was crying, but stopped after her older sister had said something.

"Li you coming?" Harry walked over to me because he noticed I had stopped walking.

He caught me staring at something and followed my gaze.

"Were you staring at Elise? The girl over there with her little sister?" Harry asked.

"Uh..um..no?" I said stuttering and blushing.

"Liam you're looking at Elise right? Just letting you know she's pretty similar to you. She graduated top of my class and is the most popular girl in the school." Harry stated.

"I think I'd like to talk with her, but I don't even know her....." I said blushing even more.

"Well that's going to change....NOW!" Harry ran towards Elise and they started talking.

About five minutes later he came running back and said, "You'll thank me later." he said grinning with his dimples.

I was so confused, but hurried to the car because Niall was screaming bloody murder because he was so hungry and we weren't leaving for Nandos.
