Adalyn pov:
May 19th (night)
Mateo and I were driving around a neighborhood I did not recognize . I had a feeling he was taking the longest way home because none of these houses look familiar.
"Mateo where are we," I asked looking over at him as he just stared at the road. "I actually don't know," he laughed.
At night everything was so silent. The only light was the neighborhood lamp posts that varied every couple of houses and the lights on houses. Inside of the houses were so dark it's like no one was there.
Mateo places his hand on my thigh, I jumped and looked over at him. His bright teeth smiled back. I smiled timidly back at him. I looked down at my feet trying not to look at him.
"Adalyn can you get directions to a gas station, I'm hungry." He kept his hand on my thigh and lightly rubbed it. I pulled up the nearest gas station and showed him where it was.
As we pulled into one of the parking stalls he turned off the car and before I could even unbuckle my seatbelt he raced to my side of the car and opened my door. He held out his hand and led me into the gas station.
I gazed across the candy section in search for some skittles. I grabbed a pack and went to the back of the store where the drinks were. I opened up the refrigerator door and before I could reach my hand out Mateo grabbed a drink. "I can just tell that you like sprite," he smirked at me. "How did you know, it's my favorite," I laughed.
I grabbed a five dollar bill out of my pocket and put it on the counter. The lady at the counter rung up our items and put them in a bag for us.
"Race ya," Mateo said as he opened the door and started running to his car. I jumped over the curb raced to the passenger side. "I won," I screamed as I got into my side of the car.
I looked over at Mateo and he was smiling at me. My cheeks suddenly got red and I looked down at my thighs.
He grabbed my chin and lifted my head. "Hey I know we don't know each other that well but I really have been having so much with you."
At this moment we were still in the gas station parking stall. He gave me my skittles and my sprite and we were off.
He had his hand on my thigh all the way to my house. "Thank you for taking me home," I smiled as I pushed the hair behind my ear.
"No problem, let's do this again sometime," he smiled. I agreed and open his car door.
I walked up to my front porch and opened my front door trying to be quiet. My two dogs jumped off the couch and came up to me. I tiptoed up to my room and snuck in my bedroom.
I slipped off my shoes and socks along with my other clothes. I put on a pair of shorts and a Van Halen concert t-shirt.
I crawled into my bed and checked my phone immediately, hoping for a text from Mateo. He didn't live far from me so he should probably be home by now. Who knows he probably won't even text me.
I set my phone on my nightstand and turned off my lamp. The darkness surrounded me.
