Phone numbers and conversations

They were in the supermarket Kai in the trolley and Gracie holding Eric's hand

Tami took the kids to go get yogurts and Eric walked to get juice

Eric was on his way back to tami when a woman in her 30s walked up and gave him her number he accepted it and smiled silently freaking out

She walked away and he rushed back to tami

" tami a woman just have me her number " he says awkwardly

" okay " she says really calm

He looks at her shocked

" did you jut hear me tami "

" yes a woman gave you her number " she says casually

They walk to the till and they walk away

And once everything and everyone was in the car he started driving

He turned round to tami

" tami a woman gave me her number her phone number for me to call her , for me to ask her on a date " he says his voice slightly rising

" I know " she says normally

" oh okay " he says turning back to the road

The rest of the day they were kinda silent but not in a awkward way just casually silent

After Eric put the kids to bed he walked Into the bedroom and tami was lying there already reading

He takes off his trousers and top and puts them in the washing basket he climbs into the bed in his boxers

She put down her book as he coughed trying to grab her attention

" why are you not freaking out that a girl gave me her number " he says turning round to her

" your still talking about that "

" are you kidding me tami a woman gave me her number and your not bothered , your my wife you should be bothered "

" why should I be bothered are you gonna use the number are you going to text her " she says slightly pissed off

" no of course not "

" then why should I be bothered "

" because ....because you are my wife and it offends me that you aren't bothered do you just not care "

" Eric no it doesn't offend me and I do care because I get to come home to you every night , I get to kiss you whenever I want , I sleep with you , I can be weird around you , I get to walk around in sweats and no makeup and you don't mind , I have sex with you , I share a bed with you and a house , I have three kids with you and I have been married to you for 23 years so no I don't mind that a 30 something girl gives you her number because I know your not going to call and you love me"

" exactly so just cuddle me and tell me how much you love me " she says sliding down to put her head on his chest he wraps his arms around here
