Once derrick left my room I put my feet on the carpeted floor, and stood up. Immediately, I got shooting pains all through my waist and thighs.  I walked across my bedroom where there was a full lenghed mirrior that hung perfectly on my wall. Slowly I lifted up my satin night gown to find bruises that went from my left thigh all the way up to my waist.  Purple and blue marks covered me and I felt small. What happened to me?

"Honey...are you decent" said my mothers chirpy voice, after knocking. i quickly pulled down my dress, covering the bruises and and answered her.

"Yes I'm decent" I said, brushing out my blonde hair with my fingers. My mother put both of her hands on my shoulder

"Put some clothes on darling, I want to show you something." I nodded, and curiosity filled my mind. What does she want to show me? Does she know about the party? Did Derrick tell her and dad? I grabbed a pink flowy dress that I bought during our trip to paris last summer, and some silver slip-ons. I brushed my hair, then teeth, and walked out of my bed room. My mom was waiting for me in the dining room, as soon as she saw me walking into the room she grabbed my arm and directed me outside. Nerves filled me as a saw my dad and brother waiting for me out side with an eager smile on there face. "Um....w-what's going on?" I asked with a shaky voice. My dad then throws something small at me, I caught it but once I opened my hands I found that it was keys. I looked up to find a baby blue mercedes siting in my parents drive way. "Is that-"

"Yours? Yes. Now you don't have to ride to school with your brother driving you." My dad said, cutting me off. I wanted to talk but the words wouldn't come out. "Melody you don't have to say anything. Your mom and I just trust you. We know you will make the right decisions, like last night for example, you wanted to go to Kailys party, but your mom and I said no, and you made a good decision not to sneak out like most irresponsible kids your age do. But melody you stayed home and you were responsible."     Now that surely didn't make me feel like shit.

"I- I... uh...." I cleared my throat before restarting. "Thank you guys so much! But.. I think that Derrick can still take me to school..... I really don't need a car.."

"Nonsense! Both your dad ane I have decided on getting you such a nice car! Besides, Derrick has already gone."  My mom replied, blowing air kisses. I slowly started walking toward my new car. What the hell am i gonna do? I ask myself.

By the time I got to school my best friend, Matt, was waiting for me with his back up against the stone wall looking down on his phone. I pulled the guilt contraption into a parking space, grabbed my purse and got out as quickly as possible.

"Whoa nice ride. Did mommy and daddy buy it for us?

"Ugh! Yes, and I feel terrible." I wailed, resting my head on Matt's shoulder.

"Why?" he said shocked.

"I went to Kailys party last night and...well shit went down. And this morning my parents just kept going on about how responsible i am and then they gave me a fucking car." Matt raised an eye brow and stopped me in my tracks.

"Wait... so daddy's little princess went to Kaily Tati's party?"

"I'm not a princess stop it.... but... yes." Right before Matt responded the bell rang and we both started running to the school doors. Matt and I parted in the hall, and we both hurried to get to our locker which were on the opposite sides of our school.  when I finally  got to my locker, the only sound in the hall was me fiddliling with the lock.  I quickly grabbed my writing journal and scurried to my class. When I finally got into Mr. Thomson's room, I noticed he wasn't in there. Everyone was staring at me, due to my tardiness, as I walked to my seat, and slowly sat down, fixing my dress.

One of my friends, Chloe, tapped my shoulder "Why were you so late"? I adjusted my purse on the back of my seat.

"Matt and I were talking and we lost track of time."

She flipped her dirty blonde hair before replying with, "Oh."   Right when I was about to ask Chloe were Mr.Thomson was, he and John walked through the door.

"That's the last time you attempt to skip my class Mister Evans."  Mr.Thomson said sturnly to john. Chills went through me as John came to his seat that was just left of mine.

"We need to talk about last night." John whispered to me as he adjusted in his seat.
