Four Eyes

The First Day of High School

Maria POV

As I wake up I found out that I am going to be late for the first day of High School. I get up and quickly get dressed. I decide to wear a plaid button-up with jeans and boots. I get downstairs and find my mom.

I say, "Morning, Mom."

I eat a proper breakfast and get on the bus.

When I get to school there is so much talking that I cannot hear myself think. And I find out it is about Jake, the most popular boy in school.

"I heard he is going to the Bahamas!" I heard someone say.

I all of a sudden am trapped in thought while I try to walk to my locker when I bump into a wall of some kind. I find out it is an unhappy Jake. I say sorry and try to walk away. But before I can, Jake grabs my wrist and says, "watch where you are going, nerd."

So he knows. I am the nerd. Wow, but he does not know my name. At that thought I smile knowing he cannot tell anyone that I, the nerd, bumped into him.

Jake POV

I wake up and am in a great mood. Why, you may ask? Back to school. Back to that place I call a dump but am happy that I get to go to the Bahamas next week. I decide to wear a white shirt with a leather jacket and black jeans. I go downstairs and find no one, no surprise. My mom is on an important trip while my dad is in Paris on a once-in-a-lifetime trip.

I get in my car and drive to school. I am so happy to see my best friends Zeck and Axel. When I get inside I start to walk when someone bumps into me. I look down and find that is is Maria Robinson, the nerd. Her eyes meet mine and i can tell she was deep in thought. She said sorry and tried to walk away but I grab her wrist and say, "Watch where you are going." And then I let go. I grabbed her wrist to look into her nervous but pretty eyes.
