Every year my friends, Leah and Gabriela, take me to the scariest Vampire movie on Halloween . As we left the movie theater, I pull my coat tighter around me as the cold wind blasts across the parking lot.
"Tell me again why I go to these stupid movies with you? You guys know movies with abnormal creatures freak me out..." I blabbered.
"Because, the movies you pick always suck" argued Gabriela. "Arg...I hate you for this" I said.
"No, you don't. I know you love me. I'm doing it for your own good, because you have to stop being scared" Gabriela stated.
"But there's a good reason why I'm afraid of vampires"I exclaimed.
"It's alright, some people just take a little longer to get over their fear" Leah confronted.
"Anyway, my car is over there and it's freaking cold. I'll catch up with you guys later." I said. "See ya" said Gabriela.
"Get home safe" said Leah.
As I walk away, I start to mumble "I'm sure it was just a movie, Leah and Gabriela want me to scream, hyper ventilate and vomit because of that abnormal human". Someone nearby snickers, and I just realized that I've been defiantly shouting out loud. "Oops" I quietly wispered.
Embarrassed, I climb into my beat-up car and turn the key. The engine comes to life after the third try! My phone beeps alerting me the battery is running out.
"Omg, I forgot to charge it again. Oh well. What's the worst that could happen?" I said patiently. I turn up the radio. The houses are starting to look a bit haunted and the streets are dark. "This area isn't familiar. Did I take a wrong turn? Where are all the trick or treaters?" I said confused.
Suddenly, a blur of motion darts in front of my car, with a blood-curdling scream, I push on my breaks. "Please don't tell me I hit some kid" I nervously said.
Cautiously opening the car door, I peek outside. It looks deserted. "H-Hello? Is there anyone there?" Looking around the boarded up houses next to a condemned building that looks like an old school. "When I said what's the worst that could happen, I didn't mean this!" I shouted.
I'm just going to find someone for help. Pulling out my phone to check my map, I remembered my phone is dead. Muttering a few obscenities, I grab my phone, lock the door and slowly started to walk.
"Gosh... It's so cold" Pulling my jacket tighter around my cold body, trying to get some warmth.
The abandoned school looms ahead. It's mortar is crumbling and dead ivy vines creep through the broken glass windows. I suddenly hear a noise trying to reach me through the icy wind. "Who's there?" Crossing the street, I noticed a woman making guttural noises. Just as I was about to hit the sidewalk, a sob reaches my ear. The turn around, and I catch this woman's glazed eyes snap to mine, and she lets out a terrified scream.
The man steps back in surprise. Suddenly she's staggering towards my direction. Blood is trickling down her neck. " O God, I should help her" I pitifully said. "Are you okay?" I asked. The strange woman staggers toward me. "Do you have a phone? I can call 911" I hurriedly asked.
"Please... please help me" the woman said. The woman is shaking hard her teeth chatters as she pleads for my help. "That guy! H-he -" A hand appears on the woman's arm and she screams again. A strange looking man is standing behind her, glaring. He looked annoyed. "That will be enough of that" The guy shouted. Shocked, I stumble back few steps.
"Let me go" The woman pleaded him. Turning the woman around, the strange man stares deeply into her eyes. Her screams and struggles abruptly stop. "Joel?" The man requested. "Yes?" said Joel. "Where did you come from" I questioned. "Clean her up and leave her by the school's entrance. I've already wiped her memories" The guy commanded.
The man hands the girl over gently before turning his deadly gaze on me. "And this one?"asked Joel. "I'll handle her. Go get yours taken care of" said the guy. Joel disappears with the women quick as a flash.
For a moment, I've forgotten about the danger before me. Looking up, I see the most startling pair of blue eyes I've ever seen. They're the color of bright sapphire. "I need to get out of here"I thought. "Where are all the trick or treaters when you need them." I asked myself. "In the nice part of town..." The guy with sapphire eyes replied.
Without thinking, my legs are starting to sprint away from the murderer. Something hard crashes into my stomach, knocking all the air out of my lungs. "Did I forget to tell you not to run?" He asked me. Not able to form words, adrenaline from the panic that struck my bloodstream. "Since you've interrupted my meal, you can be the substitute" He added. "So you are known as a cannibal-lecter " I freaked out. "Not really." He said.
With a surprising show of courage I lash out. I punch his chest, and it feels like I've hit a concrete wall. "I give you points for bravery, but you need to work on your delivery. Stay still now." He said. "No!" I screamed.
My eyes drop to his bloodstained chin and shirt. "You have Fangs!" "No! No! No! Vampires aren't real!" I told myself.
He reached for me and grabbed me by my shoulders. I kick and thrash but to no avail. His fingers tightly grip to the side of my head, holding me still. The feeling of his teeth piercing through my skin, nauseates me, and I gag to the reflex.
This is the worst nightmare come true. A vampire sucking my blood. My arms and legs start to feel numb. My head flop back on my neck. "That wasn't so bad, was it?" He questioned. As soon as he lets go of me, my body collapses to the ground.
"Hey now. You're being a little dramatic. I didn't take that much" He exclaimed. My vision starts to blur as I try to force my way back to standing. "I want you to forget this happened." He said. "What? Why aren't you forgetting?" he questioned.
"I've lost a lot of blood" I softly blabber. After a hard try of taking two steps, I stumble. "What's wrong with you? Why are you acting like this?" He asked annoyingly. "I'm anemic..." The world around me narrows down into a tiny pinpoint of light.
The next chapter will be out soon.
