I wake up too hearing soft but quick movements around the glamorous, cozy and warm apartment. I thought " not again " It's been almost a week since my weird dreams started. Right now Im half awake with a not so good headache. As I reluctantantly make my way out of bed, meredith enters my room and takes a shirt from my closet and walks away. It's saturday so Im a little skeptical about my cousin leaving so early in the morning on a cold windy morning. I slip on my feet some warm fuzy socks and a hoddie. As I walk out of my room, I glance at the clock next to my laptop 6:34.
Today I have the day off from work, so I take my time making myself a cinnamon and chamoile tea. Ever since I moved out of my parents house I have found delight and peace in my mornings, don't get me wrong I love my parents and I visit them twice a week but I also like my space and my way of living. I glance back at my living room and look at my book shelve, I decided to finish reading from the famous Harlequin romance collection. After reading the first few chapters, I got hungry.
Making pies from scratch is my specialty so I decided to make a pumpkin pie since its august and I live for traditions. While taking out the ingredients I realized that I was missing food. Usually I get a little grumpy when things don't go my way, so I felt hesistant about getting ready to go to the market. I dressed in skinny jeans, small booties, a Hollister long sleeved shirt and finally layered myself with a patagonia brand sweater.
Finally I take my not-to-small-but-enough-to-fit-my-phone-and-money light blue pouch.
I don't own a car since they pollut the atmosphere, so I took the only bicycle I own. Ever since I have found the terrible things that have been going around our world, I have realized that the least I could do was not own a car.
When I stepped outside I breath in the cool fresh air, I liked how it's still dark and their wasn't many people on sight.
Yellowish lights illuminated the candyshops and blockbusters. There where many holiday decorations hanging from shops. Down the street on the left there was a closed bookstore, the owner passed away the month of july, he was a sweet but solitary man. Memories of summer begin to flood my mind. The old man standing outside the bookshop reading the weekly newspaper and smiling politely at the people passing, I don't think anyone had the nerve to even look at him.
Now that he is gone; deep down the hearts of every person on this town, guilt lies within their hearts.I parked the bicycle next to the closest tree to the market. The suns rays slowly illuminate the sky coloring the horizons of lilac and dark blue. The small building was a kind of busy. I quickly grabed a basket from the stack waiting for people to come and pick them up. Castor oil and cornstarch where the hardest ingredients to find. While I wait in line to pay for the food, a young brunette, blue eyed boy of about 9 years came up to me and softly spoke " hello, do you mind if i take 2 quarters for a candy mashine? " his words took me to the golden days of my childhood so I grabed eight quarters from my pouch and kindly gave it to the child and saw him hapily walk away to the mom waiting for him.
Ounce my iteams where in a bag, I put them in the basket in front of the bicycle. This time on my way home I took a différent root avoiding the bookshop.
When I got home, the milk man had already passed by. The milk was next to my door steps with a card that read " thank you for your service " I put the Brown grocerie bag to open the door. I walked in with both of my hands full and placed everything on the kitchen table. The tea I made had already coold down. When I realized the place was still dark, I opend the curtins and let the light fill in the apartment.
Ounce the pie was done, I put the cup of tea on the microwave, click-click. I waited patiently while thinking about Meredith's new boyfriend, something was off about him but I really couldn't point a finger on the matter. After eating my late breakfast I grabbed the bag of dog food and shacked it to make some noice and get the attention of noodles. No dog was in view. My heart begin to beat fast as I ran to the living room to grab my cell phone. I dialed Meredith
