Ari Winkles was excitedly bouncing on the balls of her feet. Standing next to her, was her best friend Marlin Smarthers.

"Oh my grappling hook, I can't believe were at Hogwarts" exclaimed Ari, who, while saying all of this, had started spinning and waving her pale arms in the air.

This resulted in her hitting a little first year boy with chubby cheeks, in the face.  He was unfortunate enough to be standing right behind her.  Ari, who was oblivious to the whole thing, was now examining a statue of a knight.

"Ari!" yelled Marlin, who was helping the little boy, "be more careful! You hit a kid, I can't have you getting us expelled on our first day!"

Marlin yelling at her had brought Ari back to reality, her eyes widened as she turned and looked at the boy.

"I AM SO SORRY!" she said.

Once they had helped the boy to his feet, both girls took in the entrance hall. It was lit by torches, and a marble staircase lead them to the upper floors. To be blunt, it was huge. Not just the entrance hall, but the whole school. From what the girls had seen outside, it was...well... a gigantic freaking castle!

This had Ari singing, with a huge grin on her face,

"I'm queen of the castle la la la!"

Marlin facepalmed, which resulted in some of her curly blonde hair escaping her pony tail

"Ari, although I adore your awful singing voice, I must ask you....what the heck does 'oh my grappling hook' mean?!"

As if it were possible, Ari's grin got bigger and her blue eyes sparkled.

"It means 'oh my gosh', but wait for it... grappling hook instead of gosh!"

Marlin responded with a playful grin on her face, her words coated in sarcasm,

"Well isn't that genius..." but before she could say more, a woman with flowing green robes had appeared.

Her grey hair was pulled into a tight bun, and she wore crescent shaped glasses. She started talking in a thick Scottish accent

"Now Lottie's I am Professor McGonagall. I teach Transfiguration, and I am the deputy Headmaster here at Hogwarts. We will be arriving in the great hall, where you lot will be sorted, are we..." but before Professor McGonagall could say 'clear', Ari had begun giggling like a maniac.

The professor glared at Ari, who was giggling so hard her pale face was turning bright red, almost as red as her hair.

"You must be Ms. Winkles, one of our two exchange students, might I ask you why you are laughing?"

This was quiet obvious that Ari and Marlin were exchange students, seeing as they were surrounded by a bunch of small first years and they were only mere fourth years. Not to mention they had American accents instead of British or even Scottish.

They were from the American school for Witchcraft and Wizardry, Ilvermorny.

"But you just did ask me why I was laughing," replied Ari with a grin.

Professor McGonagall's glare hardened. Before Ari could get into any real trouble, Marlin came to her rescue.

"I'm sorry Professor, my friend here has a severe case of the giggles."

The Professor looked doubtfully at her.
"The giggles?" Professot McGonagall questioned.

Before Marlin could explain any further,

"Actually I was giggling because that's the first time I've heard a British accent like that!" Ari said in awe.

"I'm Scottish" said McGonagall, her eyes narrowing as she looked at Ari.
