red roses. a bunch of them, all aligned into two parallel lines.

the surrounding was dark. only dim lights from the candles can be seen shining in the darkness.

she, who just came back from work, cancelled her intention to switch on the lights.

"w- what is this?" she mumbled to herself, quite confused.

suddenly, a musical instrument being played can be heard, from where she stands. it was a guitar to be exact.

curiously, she slowly step towards the source of sound, using the path made of roses.

without her realizing, the path has lead her to the dining room.

"am i forgetting something today..?" she wondered.

her movement automatically ended when she saw that the path ends there. then, she looks around.

she could still hear the faint sound of guitar but could not detect which direction did it came from.

shock took over her when a singing suddenly fills up her ear drum.

in just a second, she recognized the angelic voice, even the song, she knew it too well.

it was 'purpose'.

she tried to look for him, but the darkness forbid her from doing so.

all she wants to do at the moment was to hug him tightly. she was really touched by his surprise.

after a while, the sweet melodies and singing stopped, as it came to an end.

without her noticing, the person she was looking for stood right behind her before wrapping his arms around her.

she yelped just a little, taken aback by the sudden touch.

"happy 2nd anniversary, sweetie." he whispered before pecking her on the head.

ah, she just remembered it. she actually did remember a while ago, but she somehow forgot after that.

she placed her hands on top of his that were resting on her waist.

"happy 2nd anniversary too, honey... thanks for the beautiful surprise... they were really lovely of you... this is why i love you, jeon jungkook. never failed to amaze me." she muttered.

he chuckled lowly. "anything for my beloved girl." he pecked her cheek for a brief moment before letting go of her.

she smiled before shaking her head "kook, i just came back and you're already pecking me here and there. i'm not in the best condition for those, you do realize that, don't you?"

"you still smell good as if you just showered though. i don't see any problem with that?" he hugged her again after switching on the lights. he knows that she doesn't like to be in the darkness for too long.

she raised an eyebrow. "liar".

he raised an eyebrow as well before turning her to face him. "i wasn't lying. it's the truth. you always smell good, sweetie." he pecked her lips before heading towards the kitchen.

she just stood there speechless until he called her to eat.

"let's eat, okay? i'm sure you're starving. i cooked these specially for you today so, do eat a lot!" he told her in excitement.

"awh, kook... you didn't have to prepare so much for me! i didn't even prepare you anything this year..." she said in guilt.

jungkook went to her. he cupped her face in between his big palms. "hey... it's okay, dear. i don't mind, really. you have struggled to do these for me last year. now it's my turn to repay for all your hard works." he persuaded her.
