Skipping ahead to seven weeks later..

I'm miserably laying on the couch.

"I can't move. Everything hurts." I whined.

"Just seven more days. You can do it Elise." Vic said from the kitchen.

"No, I can't." I cried.

"Why not?" Vic asked.

"Because my water just broke." I said.

"What?!" He asked, rushing to my side.

"Yes Vic, my water just broke, the baby is coming, so you should be helping me to the car and calling my sister." I said.

He went upstairs and got the bag we'd packed for the hospital, and then helped me out to the car.

"Jaime, where's Courtney, I need to talk to her, it's important, just put her on." Vic said.

"Vic!" I whined.

"Driving as fast as the law will let me babe." He called.

"Courtney, Elise is in labor, the baby is coming."

"She's gonna meet us at the hospital." Vic said.

"Having contractions here babe. Hurry, please." I said.

"We're here. I'm going inside to get a nurse and a wheelchair. Sit tight." He said.

"Hurry up or she's gonna be born in the backseat!" I cried.

He ran in, and came back with a nurse and wheeled me inside.

"Elise!" Courtney waddled herself to my side.

"You look like you could pop at any second." Vic said.

"Good to see you too. How're you feeling sweetie?" She asked.

"Like I'm dying." I whined.

"It'll all be over soon Ellie." She said.

"Can we please get this kid out of me?" I yelled.

"All in good time Mrs. Fuentes." The doctor said.

"We're not married yet." Vic and I said together.

"My mistake Ms. McKinney." He said.

"Holy hell, mother of god, for the love of all that is holy!" I squealed.

"Giving birth sounds painful." I heard Tony say.

"Remind me to kill him if I live through this." I told Vic.

He gave me a look and smiled, "Yes babe."

"Can I get an epidural, please?!" I yelled.

"Not yet, you're not dilated enough." The doctor said.

"Please!" I whined.

Two more hours passed, and I thought I was dying.

Vic stayed at my side the whole time, holding my hand.

"Is it over yet?" I asked him.

He kissed my forehead and petted my hair, "No, not yet babe. But it will be soon." He whispered.

"I forgot how bad this hurt. Please make it stop." I begged.

"I can't, but it won't be much longer and our daughter will be here, and this will all be over, and it'll be worth it." He said.

"Okay Elise, we need you to sit up so we can give you the epidural." Dr. Williams said.

"Give me your hand babe." Vic said.
