Chapter 4 – Jason

*voices*

"He's waking up, I'll get the doctor you wait with him"

"WAIT, what am I supposed to say"

Who's that? Where am I?

Lights blaze onto my eyelids, I don't want to wake up. If I did would this be a nightmare?

As I slowly flicker my eyes open, I'm met by a smiling face. My eyes widen as I look into her emerald green eyes, her hair falling gracefully over her shoulders. "It's you" my voice is all croaky as I attempt a smile. "Ah ha, and it's you, my hero" she says as she leans back into the chair.

As I look around I realise there was someone missing, "umm, did you see a women here at all" the blue haired girls eyes widen as she's looks to the door. "s-she, well she, you see, umm" her face became worried, until I realised "she's gone" I should have known that she wouldn't stay I mean she told me herself if something like this happened she wouldn't take care of me. The girl looks at me, while placing one hand on her chest "how did you know" her eyes were filled with sorrow as she looked at me. "I'll tell you another time" I say as I smile at her.

Why was this girl still here? Usually people don't just stay with a stranger.

"Thank you, for saving my life. Although I don't understand why you'd help me, you had so much going for you in your life". She places her hands into her lap, and looks to the ground, her long blue hair covers her expression as I notice drops of water hit her lap, "hey" I reach over and pull her onto my lap and hug her tightly, she stays still for a second before she stretches her arms around me, I feel happy for some reason.

"Krystala" she says and goes silent once again. "Huh, Krystala" is this a code or something, or could it be "it's my name, Krystala Moonstone. But everyone just calls me Kryssy" she pulls away from my grip and looks at me with a gentle face and smiles kindly, my heart raced, and felt like it was about to burst. "My names Jason, Jason Harper-Sky" I look at her and then laugh to myself "my names so ordinary compared to yours" she looks at me and then laughs with me, somehow I feel like fate brought us together but then she will leave soon enough so I guess not. "Isn't it getting late I'm sure your parents are worried" Krystala's eyes divert to the window, as she stares out of it she explains to me. Why she stayed with me.

"When I was a small child my father died, I was proud of him. He served in the war, he was just one of many who didn't make it back, but then a few years ago my mother was in a car accident, people were saying it was like a wreck, that everyone had perished. They wouldn't let me see her apparently there wasn't much to see. It broke my heart, my family was gone, I was put into foster the following week. I guess that when I saw your mother leave, I felt like I wanted to stay with you, after losing so much and finding out you survived, I felt like fate brought me here. Of course, if you don't want me, I will leave"

Leave! No I want her to stay!

"Please, stay. I don't have any friends, apparently playing piano is a nerd's thing" I laugh to myself. "You play piano? That's so awesome I play violin" she giggles and then leans onto the bed, "although how will you get used to playing now".

"Huh, what do you mean" she suddenly jumps up, and throws her hands up to her mouth, her eyes widen. And at that I become concerned, what did she mean? Then I notice something, something that I noticed before but just shrugged it off. I can't feel my left leg, I look back up at her with a scared look. And then grab hold of the bed cover, Kryssy looks away, as I drag the covers off, I look down at my right leg, but my left leg, wasn't there, it was gone. Is this why my mother left me here, then again I don't blame her, "I'm useless now" I say out loud, I hear the nurses coming down the corridor and th~ " YOU ARE NOT USELESS" my sentence is cut off mid-sentence by the cry of Krystala, I turn my head and she's crying."*sniff* you are not useless, you're not, so please don't say that" tears pour from her eyes, while her fists are clenched tight, she falls to her knees and as her tears drop to the floor, I hear nurses outside, waiting for the right moment to come in.

"I won't ever leave you, I promise" her face fills with tears more and more, they drip like rain to the concrete floor. "Kryssy, get up" I reach down my hand to her, and as she finally looks up I give the biggest smile, maybe this was fate. "Things will work out I'm sure they will, but, you don't have to pity me" she grabs my hand and jumps into my arms, a complete stranger, my only friend. "*sniff* I don't pity you" she whispers as she curls up into my chest, "I want to be your friend" I place my hand on her cheek and smile while I wipe away the left over tears "see how hard was that to say"

I smile once more and she reaches for my cheek with her hand "aren't you sad" I pull my hand over hers to keep it from moving from my cheek. "How can I be sad knowing you'll never leave me, right?" my eyes grip Kryssy's emerald green as almost like a sparkle comes from them. "You're beautiful" I say suddenly realising what I said. *giggles* her laugh is so cute.

"I'll never leave you, HEY what's your favourite snack ill make you something" she jumps off the bed and runs to the door and stands by waiting for a response. "Hmm, my favourite snack would have to be... dog food" I grin "your joking right" she mutters.

"Hah, of course I am, my favourite snack is well cucumber for the healthy option, and... fries for the unhealthy" I laugh in amusement.

"Really no way I love both of them I'll be right back with them both" she opens the door and she leaves my view.

For a few moments after, while the nurses tended to bandages and changing the drip. I thought I'd never see Kryssy again. But I thought to myself, and decided I wouldn't mind that at all. Cause she was here for me *smile*

But then as soon as she left she returned with the snacks id asked for and some extras, but this time she was carrying a violin on her back. "Where did you get that" I ask.
"what?, this, this is mine, a paramedic brought it here thinking it was yours, but I'm so glad it found its way back to me, you see my father made it, and my mother taught me to play" she explained, I loved hearing her stories for some reason, it took my mind off of, well, everything that had just happened.I didn't realize it but I'd only been in the hospital for over 6 hours, a lot happened today, but there is one good thing that happened out of this, I met Kryssy, and made a good friend from all or this ordeal.
