Belgium sat in the computer chair, staring at the game on the screen in front of her. Among The Sleep. Should she play?

Yes.

Turning the game on and putting on the headphones, she already had chills. She didn't like games with dolls, babies, or anything childishly eerie like that. Nevertheless, she watched the walkthrough, explaining that she was a baby, it was her birthday, and her mother was a very sweet lady. Belgium smiled. Once her game-mother placed her in the crib and left the room, Belgium immediately escaped the crib. She was a curious young girl, and wanted to find out what was in her birthday present box.

When she opened the box, there was nothing there. Belgium was a bit frustrated. What was the point of going to the trouble to find nothing?

Suddenly, she heard strange laughter. It creeped her out a bit. The laughter was coming from a toy box; being the curious girl she was, Belgium opened the toy box slowly, and the mood had made her so jumpy that she squealed and jumped back when a teddy bear popped out of the box.

"Hey! Ya found me! My name is Teddy." The bear said, his voice eerie. The music became creepy and strange, like the childish music from a toy jack-in-the-box, but the whole scene made the music scarier. "Let's play a game!" The bear said. Belgium shook her head rapidly, but the baby in the game automatically nodded.

After a few minutes, the bear was less creepy. Belgium had gotten used to his voice; and was playing the toy train with the bear.

"Hey! Pick me up! I wanna show you something." The bear said, and Belgium hesitantly picked up the bear. "We need someplace...very dark." The last two words sounded darker and less innocent than the others. Out of instinct, Belgium looked at the closet, and carried the bear inside, unsure of her actions. "Close the doors completely." The bear's dark, slightly terrifying voice was back. Belgium started breathing a bit more shallow as she slowly closed the doors. You're strong, she thought to herself. Strong and confident. You can do this. Don't wimp out.

The bear's voice seemed more distant and echoey once the doors were shut. "If you ever feel scared in a dark place like this, you can hug me tightly. You might feel a little bit...safer."

"No, no I don't feel safe..." Belgium said slowly, shivering and continuing. She looked around the closet, seeing that it was just old boxes.

"I think something's coming, friend," the bear whispered, and Belgium squeaked. The closet doors creaked open.

Belgium paused the game, threw off the headphones, and breathed quickly. "No, no, no, no...come on, girl. Man up." She hesitated a while, then put the headphones back on and unpaused the game. She felt stupid upon seeing that it was just the mother opening the doors. The mother placed baby-Belgium back in the crib, then turned out the lights. Belgium felt a lot less scared now. The mother sang to the baby, and the game automatically made it look like the baby's eyes were closing to fall asleep.

The baby woke in nightmare-world. The teddy bear was being dragged away by nothing, and everything looked like Belgium was seeing it out of night vision, so everything was just...creepier. The room tilted left and right, and Belgium could hear ragged breathing. Her hands shook. Suddenly, the screen shifted and baby her was thrown out of her crib onto the floor, making Belgium squeal and jump so high her chair flew backward into a wall. Oh well, she'd just play standing up.

Belgium swallowed, and began crawling around the dark house. Floorboards creaked uneasily under her. The music became more intense. Thankfully, nothing happened. She made it back to her room, which relieved her. The house had been so scary and made Belgium so anxious that she'd gone to get a Belgian chocolate bar to eat while she played. Her chocolate calmed her.

She walked back into the closet again, but the doors shut behind her. The music became strange and creepy again, like it every changed. The night-vision came back, and shadows began to cover the closet walls.

Belgium started sweating.

The screen shifted and tilted, and she heard whispers from the bear. The shadows grew closer and bigger. The whispers grew louder, and the music took a drop in pitch, making Belgium jump. She couldn't do this.

Belgium screeched and threw off the headphones, then ran back to the kitchen to grab another chocolate bar. No, two more chocolate bars. Screw it, she grabbed a basket of bars and a tub of ice cream then ran to her room.
