I watched with eager eyes as my mom was talking to a co-worker on the phone about the cat. My brother and I love cats and we were hoping to get one someday. My mom was 50-50 about getting the cat because my dad was slightly allergic. He was always saying no when we brought it up. Finally, one day, one of my moms' co-workers was giving away his two cats for a cheap price. When something as rare as that happens, you just can't say no. It was $100 for the cat, all his toys, an automatic litter box, food, and medication. We went to the co-workers' house and met the cat. This ball of fur was not just any kind of cat, it was different. He came up to us and purred softly. Mom was talking to her friend and my brother was playing with the cat. As for me, well, I looked at him, and he looked back at me with those true and beautiful eyes. For a moment, I felt a bond that would never break with this creature.

"What's his name?" I ask the co-worker.

"Milo"
