Still got the flowers you sent

Carl had been acting weird and simple Y/N has worried that it was something she'd done. She didn't want to mess up because she was deeply in love with Carl. Y/N had been for awhile but when they got to Alexandria it all changed. One day out of the blue, Carl showed at her door step with flowers. She had no clue were he got them but that day he asked her to be his girlfriend. Obviously she said yes she'd be stupid not to. They were finally happy.

And the note that said 'we're meant to be forever'

After their one year anniversary Carl had put a note with the flowers he had given her again. It was simple but cute and meaningful. We're meant to be forever.

I kept them as evidence In a drawer under the mirror.

Y/N had opened that drawer for the tenth time since they broke up. They broke up a week ago. It started when after Carl got a shot in the eye and lost it. He was different we all know that but it was a weird different. Carl would space out while she was talking to him then it got worse.

Filled with empty promises

Him spacing out turned into empty promises. Like they had planned to go over the walls and Carl had promised but he stood her up. Those empty promises turned into lies. One time Y/N had asked " Where were you I was looking for you"

Carl replied " Helping dad,"

That was the first time she had caught him lying but she had let it slide right it's only one lie. That one lie turned into him lying about him loving her.

It seems I can't break away

Y/N often notices that her mind will drift to memories of her and Carl. It will show pictures of them together in flashes. Sometimes it'll get so bad that she'll break down sobbing. Y/N gave him all her love and this is what she gets. A broken heart, but Y/N just can't get over him yet.

I thought you would be the hero
Come and save the day

Y/N thought it would stay like this forever. If she ever got herself in trouble he'd come and save the day. She'd do the same for him. Carl was her light in the darkness. Her hero. I mean that is how they met. Y/N had been abandoned and she was looking in a house for food. When she ran into Carl and Carl took her back to the prison.

But your a villain
Your sins unforgiven

Like I said Carl had been lying. Carl had been cheating on Y/N and he'd been lying about it for 4 months.

When Y/N found out she confronted Carl saying he can't do that to her. That she was giving him all her love and he was giving her only a quarter of his. There was a fight then they broke up it was as simple as that but to Y/N it hurt so much more. She cried for hours locked away in her room only coming out to eat or go to the bathroom.

Under the waves, I've found the strength to say
The River of Tears has washed me clean

Some days Y/N feels that she's better without Carl. Cleaner without all his secrets on her shoulders. Yet other times she'll cry herself to sleep.

I'll cry a wishing well

After they broke up Carl had wished Y/N well but that just broke her more. Him saying that, just showed her more that he was a good person but he made a huge mistake. That's what Carl believes too, he just moved on to Enid to fix the hole in his heart.
