Interview with rosslunch

What inspires you to be a writer?

- A lot of things inspire me. I study my favorite authors' writing techniques in their books, I look to my peers' personalities if I need help with designing characters for my stories, and, of course, my favorite bands and their members inspire me to write about them.

How long have you been on Wattpad?

- The date I made a Wattpad account was January 3, 2013.

When did you start writing?

- On Wattpad, not long after I made my account, but in my whole life, I've always been writing stories. I've wanted to be a writer since I started elementary school, but I didn't really write an online book until this One Direction fanfiction I started back in December 2012. It lasted quite a long time and got over 1k reads, but I tried editing it because over that year that I'd been writing I developed WAY more as a writer and felt embarrassed when I reread the first chapter. Then all my progress somehow got deleted, not by Wattpad, but by my iPod. I kept them all in my notes, and one day they all just vanished.

What book are you currently working on?

- I'm actually working on three books, but to name a specific one, Ramona's Hair, an R5 fanfiction, the one I've most progressed on and the most popular out of the three.

R5 is at the top of their game, and Ramona Achebe is at the bottom of the chain.

The five members of R5 have been working diligently since their move to Los Angeles to get a big-shot recording contract with Hollywood Records. The record company offers them a deal that with some requirements promises fame, fortune, and Ross Lynch's greatest desire: the right to freely express their music. But it's going to be hard to reach those qualifications, and the band decides they'll need some help.

Life in a big city doesn't exactly hand out its benefits on a silver platter. Ramona Achebe knows she has the talent Los Angeles hungers for, and she knows that if she puts herself out there, she will have the chance to strike big. She just hasn't found the perfect opportunity.

In Ramona's Hair, events turn for both sides of this conflict, and Ramona and the R5 gang meet in the middle and soon realize they need each other in more reasons than they know.

- Fanfiction.

How many reads does the story have?

- It has unfortunately only 746 reads, but I'm grateful to say the number is constantly growing and compared to stories I've written in the past, this one will be the most popular. My goal is 1,000 reads for now.

What inspired you to write that story?

- R5 mainly inspired me to begin it because at the time I was just getting interested enough in them to write a fanfic about them, and the fact that I absolutely and completely love them keeps me writing more and gives me ideas for plots.

Advice you want to give the people here on Wattpad:

- If you're a newcomer here or you're posting your first story, the Wattpad world might seem scary and you might think, "How is my story ever going to get discovered?" I know because I was actually there, more than once, along with many other writers, even the ones you admire the most here.

But when you post the story, post it with confidence. Write with confidence. It'll show to other readers that you're dedicated to the story and they'll start to respect you.

Ways to get more reads/votes/followers:

•You can share it to any of your friends and they can share it to their friends and so on.

•Follow a lot of people. Some of them will follow back and maybe look on your profile. This is also good if you want to make Wattpad friends.

•Join clubs on the desktop website. If you go to the community you will find lots of clubs with interests like yours and you can share you story and make friends.

- I didn't know you before but you may have looked familiar from somewhere when I looked on your account. I thought your story Wanted looked pretty cool, so I added it to my library and I'll start reading it soon. :)
