The next morning, the babies woke me up early kicking away. It was 5am, but I couldn't get back to sleep so I quietly checked through my phone for a bit, before silently getting out of bed. I went to the toilet then went to check on the boys. They were both still fast asleep net to each other. I checked on Bella as well, who was still asleep. I went downstairs and made myself a cup fo tea before attempting to get some factory work done. I read through emails and replied to them before reading through some papers. I went through to the bar and cleaned things up. I cleaned tables and washed glasses before going back into the kitchen to make myself another cup of tea. I then sat down on the sofa and went on my laptop. I looked through the internet to see if there was anything I could find about Ben. I knew that he and his wife were both doctors, because Theo had told me. There were a few articles online about him and his wife. I then looked through all of the old pictures that I had of when I was a child to see if I could find any clues to him and Dad having a relationship.

I couldn't. It was weird. Dad had always been there throughout my entire childhood, so I couldn't think how he would have had time to have another child on the side. But if he was born before him and Mum were together, then why would Dad keep him a secret? That makes me think that Dad didn't know, and then maybe Ben would have found me through his own discovery. But maybe Dad did know and wanted to keep things a secret from Mum. I had so many questions and no answers to them. I'd put the pictures away and was now sitting on the sofa clutching my tea in one hand and resting the other on my bump. The babies hadn't stopped kicking since I'd woken up. I heard the toilet flush upstairs and realised that it was just past seven. I assumed Charlie had woken up and realised I wasn't there, but when I heard the footsteps on the stairs, I thought it must have been one of the kids. Theo appeared in the doorway, clutching his blanket, still in his pyjamas. I put my tea on the side table and opened my arms. He climbed onto the sofa and sat on my lap, laying his head on my chest. He sat there silently for a few minutes and while he did I thought about how this time yesterday, I had no idea this little boy existed and now he was cuddled up on my lap, with no one else in the world to care for him. I was amazed at how quickly he trusted me, and how amazing he was dealing with this whole situation. I know how he feels and I assume that he only feels so attached to me because he's realised that I'm all he's got. I had the same feelings towards Michelle when the whole drama with Mum happened. She was all I had.
"Ollie let me sleep next to him last night." Theo said, interrupting my thoughts. I smiled as I stroked his hair.
"Is that because you were upset?" I asked him.
"Yeah, I was sad. Ollie said I could get in his bed and he gave me a cuddle when I cried. He told me about his sister who died. He said he doesn't remember her but he's still sad about her not being here." This brought tears to my eyes, because although Ollie was aware of Beau, he'd never spoken about it to Charlie or I. We had always wondered whether that was why he cherished Isabella so much, because he was missing a part of him.
"Yeah, Ollie had a twin who died when she was born, and it was very sad." I told him. He looked up at me and looked sad.
"I'm sorry." He said and I stroked his hair and said,
"It's ok." I then continued to stroke his hair as we sat taking in the silence. I wondered what he was thinking about. I wondered what he thought about me. I would scared out of my mind, but Theo appears confident and relaxed, even though I can see he's upset. We stayed like that for a while, before I offered to make him some breakfast and he agreed. As I went into the kitchen, I heard footsteps on the stairs again and Isabella appeared in the doorway. She ran into my legs and I picked her up onto my hip. She told me about a crazy dream that she had before getting down and going to sit at the table with Theo. I made them eggs and toast while listening to the two of them chat away to each other. I served their breakfast as Harry and Charlie came down to fill up their water bottles before going on a run together. Charlie had asked me last night if he was sure if he was fine being left with the three of them by myself. I told him it was fine and that soon we'd have four so I needed to be used to it. Ollie came down a few minutes after they'd left and sat down at the table as I served him some breakfast. As the three of them ate and chatted away, the doorbell rang. I wasn't dressed but I went to answer it, to find the social worker standing there. I welcomed her inside and she sat down at the table with the kids while I made her a coffee. I sat down with them, with Isabella on my lap and the five of us chatted before she asked to see me in the hallway.
"Everything seems to be going well, so I thought today I would leave you to it if that's alright," I nodded, "You have my number if you need me so don't be afraid to get in touch." She said before saying goodbye to Theo and leaving out the back door. I went back into the back room, where the kids had all finished eating. I sent Isabella and Theo upstairs to get dressed holding onto Ollie's hand before he ran away.
"Ollie, thank you for being so nice to Theo last night. He told me that you let him in your bed."
"It's alright Mummy. I really like him, he's like having a brother." he said as he smiled. I smiled as well.
"And you know it's alright if you want to talk to me and Daddy about Beau, don't you?" I told him.
"Yeah I know Mummy." He said before he let go of my hand and ran out of the room and up the stairs. I soon followed them up the stairs, to make sure they're all wearing clothes that matched. As I reached the top of the stairs, Ollie and Theo were jumping up and down excitedly.
"Mummy, Mummy, me and Theo have got the same t-shirt look." he shouted as I made my way into their room. They were both holding up a long sleeve navy t-shirt that read Here Comes Trouble. I smiled and they both decided they wanted to wear it. They both put on a pair of jeans with the top while I went to check on Bella, who had chosen a denim dress with a stripy top. When she was dressed, she followed me into my room where I got dressed into a tight fitting striped blue and white dress, with some tights. The boys came into my room as well and the four of us sat on the bed and discussed what they wanted to do today.
"Well we do need to go to get some extra furniture for Theo's stuff, and for the babies' room, so we could go to Ikea." I said and the three of them jumped up and down. "We'll have to ask Daddy when he gets home, but it means we can get some stuff and maybe have meatballs for dinner." The three of them all smiled and sat back down on the bed. While I did my hair and makeup, the three of them chatted away.
"Do you want to go in the play area?" Bella asked the boys. I worried about this question, I wasn't sure whether or not Theo would want to.
"No, I think I would rather stay with Isla." Theo said.
"Me too" Ollie said, as I watched him put his arm around Theo in the mirror.
"Me too" Bella added. I knew that both Ollie and Bella wanted to go in the play area, it was their favourite thing. Charlie and I enjoyed it as well, but it showed me how amazing the children that I had raised were. They are so considerate and kind and I couldn't have been prouder. The four of us went downstairs and sat on the sofa watching TV. Isabella lay on top of me, with the boys on either side. They barely moved when Charlie and Harry came in from their run, but Charlie kissed my head before going upstairs for a shower.
