World's Apart (an Adventure Time fan-fic)

Chapter 1

*If you've never seen the show Adventure Time, read the authors note at the bottom that is written in bold. It will give you a short description.*

Piper's P.O.V:

As i trudged home from school in the pouring rain and lighting, i tried so hard to keep the tears welling up in my eyes from spilling over. It had been the third time this year that i had asked out a guy i really like-liked and had been rejected. What was wrong with me? Was i not pretty enough or something? Well, screw them all. I wasn't gonna pretty myself up and be like one of those petty, desperate girls who will do anything to get a boy to notice them. That would just be stupid!

Whomp! I had suddenly tripped over the curb while crossing the street. I hid the ground with a thud and could feel warm blood coming out of a big gash in my fore head, mixing with rain and tears as it trickled down the side of my face. I tried to stop some of the bleeding by pressing a hand to the cut, it didn't do much help and the sudden blood loss was making me feel dizzy.

With shakey hands, i pushed myself to my feet and stumbled across the street and up six stories to get to my apartment. My parents weren't  home from work this early in the day so i grabbed the package of bandages from the supply cabinet myself and tried to clean the wound with soap and water.

It helped but only a little. Maybe i should get some air. I stepped outside on to the balcony and leaned in the railing for support. I realized that i must have had a harder fall than i thought at that point because as soon as i stepped outside i heard a strange noise coming from below me. It was sort of like a soft humming but as i leaned over the edge to look from where it was coming from, i saw that the ground was... rippling? Yes it was, just like it was made of water.

I leaned forward more as i saw the ground suddenly collapse into a giant sink hole. Was i going crazy or something?

Suddenly, i leaned too far and was now falling from the balcony into it. I screamed at the top of my lungs but the people walking by just kept going as if me and this hole were invisible to everyone around us.

I shut my eyes tight and pinched hard myself to see if i was dreaming. I didn't wake up and before i could try again, i disappeared into the darkness of the giant, growing pit in the ground. I braced myself for the painful impact of me and the ground. I waited for several seconds before i went splat. Seconds became minutes and then became what seemed like hours. Oh great, a bottomless pit. I would starve to death before i would even get close to the bottom.

I sighed, the noise echoing off the walls and coming back to me in the silence.

Miraculously, I turned around to see a light at the end of the tunnel, literally. It was only meters away, now feet. I was so relieved that i might not go splat that i was glowing. Wait, that didn't seem right. Slowly, the glowing grew brighter until i was just a big ball of light. It slowly faded, revealing that my body and face was the same as always, only in cartoon form. I sort of looked like Fionna the human girl from the Ice King's Adventure Time fan fiction, one of my favorite episodes from Adventure Time, only i didn't have her rabbit hat and my fire red, hair was tied back in its usual messy, pony tail instead. What the heck was going on?!

I suddenly fell through the tunnel exit, causing me to gasp. I was actually in The Land of Ooo, right in the grasslands, Finn and Jake's home. I could see their tree fort in the distance. It's too bad i wont be around much longer to enjoy this place. Did i mention that i was falling from the sky once again? I screamed in one last effort to get somebody's attention and save me some how. Nobody came to my rescue.

Hey guys! Don't worry i'm not going to kill off the main character and she's not gonna die. BTW, for this story i'm going to just publish one chapter at a time instead of just making you wait forever until it's finally published so i'm very sorry if i take awhile to publish them. P.S: If you don't know what Adventure Time is, it's about a boy named Finn and his magical stretching dog named Jake. They live in a post apocalyptic world where Finn is one of the last living humans. (Susan Strong is human and if any of you think otherwise, you need to watch the episode 'Beautopia', again.) Anyway, Finn and Jake are adventururs and they kick evil's butt whenever it's terrorizing a vilage or capturing a princess.
