She was too tired to look at Soma's countless Shokugekis and she already knew the results of all of them because she watched the anime before.
But, the camp of hell was coming. Shoko knew that she would pass, because of her setting.
"Camp of Hell?"
"Yeah. It's like a training camp, in one way." Shoko explained the system to her brother. "Besides, almost half the students get expelled from this camp."
"Heh..." he says.
Right, Yukihira Soma was THIS kind of a guy. Shoko sighed and looked at her upperclassman all worried. She sighed again and went up to pack her things.
In her luggage, she put a small pillow, three sets of her chef's uniform, two sets of her night clothes, few underwears, toothpaste, etc. She sighed and took a look at her knife case. She smiled, then sharpened the knives.
She washed the knives for the last time, dried them and put them in the knife case. On a small pouch, she put the timer, sleeve protector, gloves, and few extra hair ties in case her white ribbon breaks.
She finished packing her stuff and went to sleep quickly.
Next morning, she was able to see her dorm mates excluding her brother about to die because of the tension and the pressure of survival.
Survival of the Fittest. It's a term used in biology or ecology, that individuals with the best skill or appearance to help them survive will be the only ones surviving. This also applied at this academy.
The best chefs are the ones that survive.
In the bus to the camp was silent, unlike most field trips ones would go in a regular school. It was dead silent, and the bus driver seemed to be the one nervous to the dead silence that he turned the music on.
Music of the latest hot artists was the only thing filled in the bus. The students were sitting in alphabetical order, which led Shoko to sit next to her brother.
"Nii-chan," she said. "You nervous?"
"No. You?"
"...A little," she answered, but she already knew how the results will turn out for him.
"Sho-chan. You still have trauma about when you were in sixth grade?" Soma asked her and glanced her direction.
Shoko flinched a little.
"...Yeah. Still too scared to new people."
"Ah."
"People my grade are just... you know."
"Shoko. Let me clarify this. She's gone."
"I know she is. He is too."
"...."
Two of them were silent like everyone else after that conversation.
In the lobby of the resort where all students were waiting, Shinomiya Kojiro pointed at Shoko.
"You."
"?"
"Yes, the short red hair. Expelled."
"May I know the reason, sir?" Shoko answered, calmly.
"You used shampoo with a scent. That will interfere with the scent of the food-"
"No, actually." Shoko grinned and answered. "It's the scent of the strawberry french toast I had in the morning."
"Huh."
