Chapter one
Harry had been working on the coldest day of the year in Cheshire. It had reached -10°C and pouring it down with rain. The bakery had been so boring and empty the whole day. There had been about five customers in total and they were all in the morning, so he didn’t really even need to be there. Still, it was five minutes to closing time and so Harry was just sweeping up and putting everything away. He had saved a warm apple strudel to have on the way home to keep him warm.
Grabbing his coat and taking his hat off, there was a huge gust of wind that swept through the shop that gave him automatic goose bumps all over his arms and legs. He looked up to glare at who had just let all the cold air in to the toasty little shop. But, he was met with soft, blue eyes and a big fluffy coat. The boy buried underneath all the coats was possibly the most attractive man Harry had ever seen. The glare across his face dissipated almost immediately and he just stared with his jaw hanging widely. He had no idea this had gone on for, but the mystery model-like guy cleared his throat to collect himself and knocking Harry out of his trance along with him.
“Hi… Harry… my name… my name’s Harry,” he managed to stumble out, mentally slapping himself for looking like a complete prat. The other boy just giggled into the hands and Harry nearly died with how cute it was.
“Hi Harry. The name’s Louis. I have moved to Cheshire and I could desperately do with some bread right now. Do you think you could help me out?” His voice was just beautiful, it was a strange mix of flirty but like he was a five year old at the same time.
“Well, I was just about to shut for the day, but we might have some bread left in the back. Give me one minute?” Harry said, now being able to form full sentences again, without making himself look like a fool. Louis nodded and shot him a smirk, making Harry’s goose bumps come straight back, but this time for a completely different reason.
When Harry returned to the front of the shop with a small loaf of brown bread, Louis was stood there, texting frantically on his phone with a worried look on his face.
“is everything alright, Louis?” Harry asked innocently, trying not to seem nosy. Louis flicked his head up, and gave him a tight smile.
“Um, yeah. Everything’s fine. I’ve just started at the university in the City centre, but me and my mates are living together in the flats down the road from here. My best mate, Zayn, he’s managed to lose his keys already, which isn’t surprising really, but I did warn him. So, that means I’m gonna have to go and let him in… I’m rambling again, sorry, sorry sorry!”
This time, it was Harry’s turn to giggle, making Louis blushed.
“Well, you better go then I suppose. Here’s your bread, and treat it like a house warming gift, for free. Welcome to the area, Louis. See you around.” Said Harry, trying not to seem to disappointed by the fact that Louis was going to have to leave already.
“Thank you so much, Harry! Yeah, I’ll definitely see you around, maybe next time; I won’t have to run off like a loon!” They both chuckled and Louis left soon after that, with Harry’s eyes following him. Terrific arse, Harry thought to himself, before shutting up shop and heading out.
