A five year old Hinata looked out unemotionally to the battlefield, she could see everything. After unlocking her Byakugan at the age of four, the clan elders had her witness the horrors of war. Hiashi, her father, told her to keep her eyes activated at all times.

No matter what she did, she saw the corpses that littered the burnt ground, the blood that pooled around the deceased, the expressions of horror etched on their faces for eternity. She saw it all, there was no way to block it out, even if she closed her eyes the horror was still perfectly seen, curtesy of the Byakugan. It could see through anything, even being able to see the chakra points in a human's body.

It was a blessing and a curse.

Hinata jumped when she heard coughing, she looked around with her all seeing eyes to find a Shinobi from Iwagakure still alive. She rushed to him, grabbing water out of her pack and placing his head in her lap. She picked his head up and tilted her canteen to his lips, the man drank greedily and turned to look at her, but began to scream at the sight of her deadly visual prowess.

He grabbed a Kunai that lied next to him and flung it at Hinata, she moved her head to the side, startled by the man's actions, "Nin-san, I want to he-"

"Get away!"

He pulled his katana off his back and was about to strike down on her, but Hinata beat him to it. She thrusted her open palm to the man's heart, killing him.

She saw it, she saw his heartbeat begin to slow, she saw his chakra cease to flow, she saw the life fizzle right out of him.

And she was the cause of it.

Usually, your first kill is traumatic. You'd think Hinata would be breaking down to her knees and sobbing into her hands, calling herself a murderer and wishing she could take it back, saying she'd do anything to never kill again.

But, to Hinata, it was quite anticlimactic. She never felt the need to take back what she did, it was her life or his. She did what she needed to. Maybe she was a murderer, but she chose to live. She didn't want to die, not at such a young age where she hadn't experienced anything of the Shinobi world.

So call her a murderer, she wouldn't disagree. She never felt the break within her when she struck the man, maybe she never had any humanity to begin with.

Hinata was confused, she looked at her slightly chubby, but deadly, hands and curled her fingers into fists before relaxing them once more. She was confused by the lack of reaction.

Maybe this is what the elders meant by killing the roots of your emotions.

Ever since she could remember, the clan was always breathing down her neck, the elders and main branch members reminding her to never show her weaknesses, emotions were their weaknesses.

Maybe the clan is responsible for her lack of emotion to her first kill, maybe it's responsible for her lack of humanity.

Hinata felt a heavy hand placed on her shoulder, she knew he was there. Again, curtesy of the Byakugan.

"Otou-sama?"

"Yes Hinata."

"Why..." She struggled to place her inner conflict into words, "Why do I feel nothing? I ended his life with my bare hands, he could have a family, friends, yet I feel no remorse."

Hiashi's eyes widened slightly at her confession, he opened his mouth to speak, but Hinata bear him to it, "The elders always wanted me to kill the root of my emotions, and I have, but I believe most would have at least felt regret for what they've done. It's what makes us human, regret, remorse, and sorrow, yet I feel none of it." She looks him in the eye, her Byakugan staring into his soul, "Where's my Humanity, Otou-sama?"

A/N: Sooo total crack pairing lol Shisui x Hinata

Sooo basically, Hinata is born the same time zone as Itachi(they're the same age btw) and Hinata will have a childhood similar to Itachi's, but trust me this is a ShiHina!
