The double doors of the house opened, and Theo strode out of them with moxie. His guards flanked him as they walked quickly to the set of black vehicles I was standing in front of. I crossed my arms across my chest, smirking as Theo's suit coat blew open slightly with the wind, revealing his tailored grey three-piece suit and golden tie.
"You're late," I told him as he reached for the door to the car. He gestured inside, allowing me to slide in first. He closed the door after himself and smiled widely.
"Enforcer's are never late," He smirked. "They arrive exactly when they mean to."
"Regardless," I rolled my eyes. "Do you really think its nice to keep your wife waiting?"
Theo's hand quickly found its way to my thigh, between the thigh high slit of my butterscotch colored dress. His fingers squeezed the muscle and a chill ran down my neck to the base of my back.
"You look beautiful," He grinned.
"How is it that I'm the one ready on time? What could you possibly have to do other than shower and get dressed? You've had that suit picked out for days and I even laid the tie out for you."
"This type of handsome takes time," He said seriously, fixing the way the tie laid around his neck.
I scoffed, looking out the window. The stream of cars followed the winding road of pavement up to the mountains where the event was being held. "Is this about Logan?"
Theo growled. "This has nothing to do with him."
"Really?" I said sarcastically. "The two-thousand-dollar suit has nothing to do with him?"
Theo's jaw set in a hard line. Even with the small amount of stubble he had grown, the harsh angle looked lethal. He took one deep breath and smoothed his vest against his chest.
"No."
I resisted the urge to laugh. It was a short distance from the house we were staying in to the pack house of Fiona Murphy, the newly appointed Enforcer of the European continent. The other five Enforcers, including Theo, were invited to celebrate the occasion with their families.
The pack house was already booming with people by the time we arrived. Alphas and Lunas from across Europe came to celebrate with the young Enforcer, hoping to gain her favor. Fiona stood in the middle of the ballroom in a silk, robin's egg blue dress. Her blonde hair had been tied up in a complicated updo, allowing her large blue eyes to shine.
Her thin smirk grew larger as she laid her eyes on Theo and myself.
"Theodore Weston, as I live and breathe," Fiona drawled, her eyes dancing over us as she walked, champagne glass in hand.
"Fiona Murphy," Theo called back. "Didn't those teeth have braces the last time I saw you?"
"Seeing as I was fourteen the last time I saw you, probably. And this must be your lovely mate."
"Margo Weston," I reached my arm out. She smiled and pulled her arm around my shoulders, kissing the side of my cheek as she hugged me to her slightly frame.
"Lovely to meet you." Her eyes were glossed and jumping around the room as she pulled away. glancing around us as she sipped the champagne. An arm reached over her shoulder and snatched the glass from her hand.
"Lovie, you're a lightweight," A voice chimed in behind her. She pouted and introduced the man as her mate. "Need to keep a better eye on this one," He chuckled.
"I don't need a babysitter," She declared. "This is my party and if I want to drink all the very expensive champagne we ordered, then I will."
"You can drink all the champagne you want right after you eat something," Her mate kissed the curve of her ear, pulling her towards the many tables of food in the other room.
