Poem 1: Let Freedom Ring (What is freedom?)

Some write of joy

Some write of pain

Some write simply to complain

I write of freedom

For those are too plain

There's more than just pain or joy

More than the hurt of a girl or a boy

For freedom is an escape from the pain

Or freedom can express the pain you feel

Escape by running in the rain

For freedom is a way to deal

Some write of joy

Some write of pain

Some write simply to complain

I write of freedom

For those are too plain

There's more than just pain or joy

More than the love of a girl or a boy

For freedom is an outlet for smiles

Freedom can express the joy you feel

Express by driving for miles

Singing at the wheel

Let freedom ring

Is what the people sing

To express the joy and stop the pain

Let freedom ring from every rain drop

Let freedom ring from every rolling hilltop

Just let freedom ring!
