Jisung looks with big eyes between Minho and the two in front of them. He had heard about his boyfriend's strict parents before, but never met them. Until now.

Minho's grip around Jisung's hand falls as he instead tries to shove the shorter boy stumbling in behind him, trying to hide him with his own taller body.

"Mom, dad," he says to them. "I didn't know you were coming."

"No son," his father says with stern eyes. "We came to give you a surprise visit since it's been so long since last time you were home."

  There's a reason I'm never home.

"But I see we got us quite a surprise too," his mother speaks up, words hard as she gives a nod to the boy behind her son.

The said boy tenses up and nervously grabs Minho's hand behind his back, hidden from the two adults. Minho meets it up with giving it a tight tug back.

"I'll do this to protect you, I do love you," he whispers to Jisung before turning to his parents. "This is my friend Jisung."

Jisung steps up next to him as he hears it, quickly adjusting to the act as he sees Minho's parents sceptical looks. "Hi, nice to meet you, I'm Jisung, Minho's best friend and roommate."

Minho's mother flashes a small smile before going back to her cold face.

"Shall we get going?" his father asks, montioning to the door and looks at Minho with cold eyes hard as stone. "We should have a lot to catch up on."

Gulping, Minho leads his parents up the stairs to the front door of his apartment, Jisung walking next to him.

"If you would be so kind to excuse us, and wait outside while we just clean up a bit?" Jisung suggests before Minho has time to open the door for them. The older sends him a thankful look. Jisung is really a lifesaver. "We didn't know you were coming and it's pretty messy in those christmas times and all, you know how it is."

The two adults nods briefly, to which Jisung whispers a thanks to them before grabbing Minho and darting into the apartment.

"We need to bring out the spare bed you have in the storage room," Jisung instructs. "And that room must look like a bedroom."

"How did you know I have a spare bed?"

"I just know, ok? Now what have you told them about your so-called roommate?"

"Are you really comfortable in doing this?" Minho asks concerned. "You do know how homophobic they are, right? We have to be super careful not to... you know, reveal anything. It's not your fault, ok? I'm not ashamed of you, it's just..." Minho struggles to find the right words, he really doesn't want to hurt the younger boy. "Them."

Jisung stops in his fixing and turns to his boyfriend, a smile with a sad touch over it glowing on his face. "Of course, I know, and I'll do everything to stay with you."

Minho's on the verge of tears at his words. Jisung is really everything he could ever ask for.

"So, your imaginary roommate?" Jisung breaks the unidentifiable tension. "How should I act?"

"Um..." Minho thinks. "I think I said he has a girlfriend."

"Okay, I could do that," Jisung says confidently. "Anything else?"

"Yeah, he should be smart, since I live here because of my studies."

"Easy," a smug smile plays with the younger's lips. "I won't even have to pretend."

At this rate, Jisung's imaginary room is set up, and Minho moves over to wrap his arms around Jisung's waist.

"I love you," Jisung whispers, reaching up to plant a kiss on Minho's lips. "This won't bring us apart."

"I love you too," Minho whispers as they stand forehead to forehead. "Whatever happens I will still love you forever."

A few moments later Minho's family is sitting around the dining table, Jisung standing at the counter, cooking.

"So," Minho's mother speaks up. "You two have been roommates since Minho moved here?"

"Yes Ma'am," Jisung answers politely, causing Minho's heart to swell. Jisung really did everything to get them to like him. "We're very close friends."

Minho's dad mumbles something unhearable before speaking up in a louder voice. "Are you doing well in school son?"

"Oh yes,"  Jisung smiles. "Minho has the highest grade in every subject he's in."

Once again, the older of the two boys feels his heart swell once again. The effort Jisung puts into the current situation makes him wonder how he could ever deserve someone like that. Jisung is really the best thing in his life.

"Here we go," Jisung says as he puts the finished plate of Yakiniku down in the center of the table and sits down on the chair next to Minho. "I hope you enjoy."

Minho's mother reaches over and puts a portion of the food on her plate and pours some soy sauce over. Sceptically she grabs some rice and meat with her chopsticks as she slowly puts in her mouth. Minho's dad follows her example suitly. The two younger boys at the opposite side of the table watch anxiously as the adults chew.

Five seconds, which for the two feels like an eternity passes before the eating couple finally swallows their bite. The woman mumbles something inaudible and looks at her husband with big eyes.

  "H-how... is it?" Jisung stutters.

Minho's mother, answers. "It's very good." From what Jisung can see she's unbothered, but Minho can see how she just longs to eat more of the heavenly tasting food. Excited he grabs Jisung's hand under the table and his younger partner can't help the smile taking over his face.

They eat, and the two boys finally loosens up a bit.

They could only guess what was to come.

"So, son," Minho's father speaks up. "Are you going to get your mind right soon and get a girlfriend soon?"

Minho tenses up at his words.

But it's about to get worse.

His mother looks at him, eyes cold, no tendencies of a smile. "You are not going to keep messing around with having a boy as your partner are you? You know that's not real love."

"How...?" Minho can't believe it. How did they know he and Jisung was a thing?

"Don't play games kid," the oldest male in the room hisses and looks at Jisung with eyes full of despise and disgust. "Don't think we didn't see you kiss that boy."
