It’s a hot summer evening, and the electricity is out again at River’s apartment complex.

“This is the second time this week guys, come on can we get it right?” River mutters to herself. She’s stark naked, as she opens the patio door and steps outside.

Leaning against the rail of the wrought iron balcony over looking the enchanting ocean view from the eighth floor, she really doesn't give a shit if someone see’s her. Not like they'd get the perfect view anyway, considering the power is out in the entire building. So there are no lights to illuminate her state of nakedness.

Hot and bored shitless, as she cannot use the internet with no power, she reaches over to her table and grabs the purple bottle of bubbles left behind by her client’s four year old daughter. Staring at the pink and purple image of Dora the explorer, and some spanish writing that she can’t comprehend. She leans against the railing blowing bubbles out at the stars for a while, when she hears….

“Um, perdón ….. señora de su bebida o lo que sea, está derramando sobre mí aquí”, says her neighbor down stairs.

“Santo, you know I don't understand Español.” She yells down at her drunken neighbor.

“I said, your drink is spilling on me.” He replies.

“My bad, and it’s not a drink dear. I was blowing bubbles out of boredom.” she sighs as she returns the bottle back to the table.

She go’s into the bedroom, and throws on a skirt, and bikini-top. She doesn't want to hang out roasting in her apartment, and she certainly doesn't want to upset the drinking neighbor downstairs. Drama is not her style.

River makes her way down to the beach, lays out her towel, and hangs out as close to the shore’s edge as she dared to go. She’s only there alone staring up at the stars, for ten minutes when Santo comes over and touches an ice cold bottle of Corona to her belly.

“Ayeee! Santos you asshole!” She screams at him.

Santo is laughing so hard, he drops the bottle, and spills a little of the open one in his other hand. Doubled over, holding his stomach, the young man, can hardly contain his amusement of her reaction.

Trying to regain composure, he finally speaks.

“Santo….not Santos…..but, you can call me Moon, Miss River. I thought you might like a drink in this heat. So, I was just trying to be neighborly. Neighbor.” He says, snickering at her, with a wink.

“Thanks for the drink, loco moon!” She sits up, grabbing the bottle he dropped and untwists the cap. Foam spilling out everywhere as she takes a quick swig from the bottle. “I appreciate the beer, but you're still an asshole for puttin that cold shit on my skin like that.” she says glaring at him.

He’s still chuckling, hiding his face behind his hand and bottle. She notices her neighbor is actually really attractive when he smiles. He has amazing intense green eyes, and they light up and shine when he smiles.

“So, I gotta ask you. Why were you naked out there on the patio ? You know I could see you, right ?” Moon blurts out.

River cuts her eyes at Moon, and stares him up and down. “I don't owe you an explanation of anything.”

Moon grabs her beer, as she’s in the middle of drinking it. “Well, if you're going to be a bitch to me, I may as well keep my beer to myself.”

“Oh oooooo, no no no no…..I'm sorry. Fuck you, you pissed me off!” She yells.

“It was JUST a joke. My God woman, get OVER it.” Moon shouts, handing the beer back. “You know what. I dunno where your mouth’s been anyway. Keep it.”
