Sins of the Grandfather (Working Title)

Introductory Section

A/N:  I came up with this idea and I don't know if I should continue it or not. Let me know what you think of this in the comments. Can also be found on my Tumblr.

Frank's Perspective

            Retirement sucks. That's what everyone said about it. They warned me not to take it when it was offered. They all told me that because I am still an extremely active 65-year-old that I would hate it. But retirement is about spending time with family and enjoying your hobbies. That's exactly what I have been doing. Spending time with my granddaughter, teaching her my hobby.

Ashley's Perspective

             *thump thump* I was practising my kicks on the freestanding punch bag. *thump thump thwack*

"I told you not to go too high yet," my grandad commented from the doorway "but then you are as stubborn as your mother."

"Yeah well, I need something more challenging." I huffed as I pulled myself off the floor.

"Well the floor is very challenging to your body, getting injured won't help you in the slightest."

"You said I need to get used to a level of pain."

"First you need to be able to fight, or you'll end up in the hospital; I'd never hear the end of that from your mother." He chuckled throwing his hand up.

              After I had showered and cleaned up the gym I headed out to the garden and heard my grandad in his office, he was arguing on the phone. I tried to get closer to hear the conversation but before I could I heard him slam the phone. He still used an old rotary to be able to hang up in what he called the most satisfying manner. I went to move away but I hear him muttering,

"I told them I'm not doing that, I may be active but I'm 65," he sighed "What am I going to do, if they carry on at this rate she won't be ready in time."

He started moving to the door, so I hurried outside trying to decipher what I'd just heard. My grandad used to be in the army, I thought that's where he knew fighting techniques from. Maybe I was wrong.
