The Government

"Sophie this place is amazing!" I exclaimed. It was made out of redwood. It was small but totally Sophiefied. The adorable rug and matching hammock were super cute. And the boom box on the old nightstand Sophie had in her room years ago, it brings me back to the good old days.

"Thanks." she said coming up the trap door. "I know that we just got here but I should go before the government finds us. I will bring some more food and water tomorrow. For now just eat the canned food in the compartment of the night stand. Be careful Aidan."

"I will be." I said. "See you soon."

Short A/N

So I have decided to go with a new Pov with the rest of the chapter. I hope you enjoy it. :)

Alice's Pov

I know that all of this is my fault because I said that he can stay. I let that little weasel trick me all over again. I hate him even more now. Why can't I ever do the right thing. I'm a mess up in life and end up hurting more people when trying to help one.

The hand on my shoulder and back had a strong grip. No way of escape. I had no idea who it is due to my blindfold.

I resisted walking as much as possible not wanting to reach my destination. I hope Asa or Aidan is there with me. I don't want to be alone.

"What are we going to tell him?" The man guiding me asked.

Confused I started to ask "Wh-"

"I don't know. Perhaps we should tell him the truth about the girl with fire." said someone else near me said.

"I still can't believe she got away."

I completely stopped, my heals digging into the soft dirt. "Aidan got away?" I whispered so quietly to myself.

"Why did you stop walking, stupid girl?! Keep going!" Yelled the mean man still trying to get me to some dreaded place.

I smiled to myself knowing Aidan for that short time felt like we knew each other for years. She will come back for Asa and me. I am 100% sure.

I walked ahead and used my 'sixth sense' to contact Asa.

Asa if anyone tells you that Aidan is in trouble don't believe them they are NOT telling the truth.

Yes, I can capitalize letters with my sixth sense. It is just how I roll.

One step ahead. That was exactly what I needed.

I walked with a strange sort of confidence until I hear a door open.

The A.C. must be working extra hard to keep it cold. It must have been at most 60 degrees in there. My arms imminently got goosebumps and my teeth chatter together.

"W-why is it-t s-s-so cold?" I asked.

"It is harder for you mutants-"

"I was born this way, not technically a mutant."

"Whatever, it is harder for you to concentrate to use your powers. I personally hate it. 54 degrees is way too cold."

"Why 54? Why not 55 or 50?" I asked.

"I don't know!" the man said rolling his eyes more about the system and less about me.

"I like you." I said truthfully.

"I like you too." he said in a flat tone.

"Even if you did call me stupid. I will be glad to return the favor in the future. Remind me?"

"Oh just get into the cell." he said pushing me into a room and closing a squeaky metal door by the sound of it.

"Alice thank goodness you are alright! I was so worried!" It was Asa! Thank the world. He untied my blindfold and then the ropes behind my back.

"Are you alright Asa?" I asked seeing the brown and purple bruise on his right cheekbone.

"Just a bit difficult to take down." he said with a stiff laugh while lightly touching the bruise.

"Got knocked out with one punch unfortunately."

"I'm so stupid helping your powers become under control, you might have gotten away." I apologized moving to sit beside him.

"Don't beat yourself up. I would have caught all the woods on fire if it wasn't for you." he said genuinely. "If anything you saved me from hurting anyone innocent again."

"I wish I had met her." I said knowing I shouldn't have.

"If you had you would hate me like I do." He said. "she was the best person I have ever met. Gosh Aidan is so much like her, and now she might get hurt because of me."

"Aidan is smart she will help us." I said. "I promise you."

He smiled at me. "Let us hope, or we are in big trouble."
