5- Pennies with a Psychopath

We sat outside of my first Tuesday/Thursday class on a bench. I immediately dug into my pancakes with my mind running wild. Maybe Sebastian wasn't that bad, but he still was either messing with me or crazy.

Even if he had seen me in our first few classes the first week of class he had not had a conversation with me until yesterday.

"Penny for your thoughts?" Sebastian held out his hand.

I let out a loud peal of laughter. "Are you actually giving me a penny?" He nodded vigorously.

"I think it's quite a bargain for how concentrated you seemed." He smiled at me, genuinely smiled. No fake smirk or forced smoulder, just real and kind.

"Okay," I took the penny from him, "I was thinking about you."

His grin grew. "Really? What about me?"

"Now, that's worth far more than a penny. I'm out of your price range."

I got up and disposed of my trash. "Thanks for breakfast, I'll see you later." I smiled at him.

"Yeah I'll... I'll catch you later. If you need anything you have my number. Or if you want to, like hang out or something later today," Seb rambled.

"Okay will do. Thanks. Bye!" I chirped and went off into the building.

I was exited for my class, it was composition and it was already immensely interesting.

I sat down a little earlier than I had the previous week so I sat in a seat on the front row that I knew had been unoccupied.

A few moments later, a girl around my height walked in wearing a bright t-shirt and a large smile. She sat down next to me, and introduced herself.

"Hey I'm Andria, what's your name?"

I grinned back, "My name is Kacey, nice to meet you!" I stuck my hand out for her to shake.

The professor entered a few minutes later and we both grew quiet and interested in the lecture.

"I love this class, and I've always hated writing so that's a big thing for me," Andria gushed out.

"I know! I've always loved writing and literature and all of those things, but this professor just takes the extra mile to make things clear!"

Andria groaned, "I have a class right after this, but can I have your number and we can hang out later?" She smiled up at me.

"Yes of course!" I was beyond excited as I handed her my phone.

"I think we're going to be good friends," Andria said to me with a big smile on her face.

"I hope so, I think we'll get along nicely. See you later!" I waved to her.

Several hours later I tried to convince myself to get up and go to the dining hall.

I knew that my roommate hated the dining hall and either ate out or went to her current flings apartment and they took turns cooking.

It was stupid, but I couldn't make myself go by myself. I am an adult, adults are mature and can eat by themselves in public.

I couldn't do it.

I quickly texted Andria to see if she wanted to grab dinner at the cafeteria.

"Sorry, I just got done and now I'm headed grocery shopping with one of my suite mates! Rain check?"

I sighed at her text but responded with an upbeat answer saying of course.
