Foreword
The street where it never sleeps. Bustling. Lively especially when the clock strikes 12. Under the moonlight. The glorious glow up in the sky went unnoticed and was greatly distracted by the lights from the clubs, pubs and city.
Booming music from every corner of the street fills the ear. As if the remix is not enough, all the music escaping the walls fills your ears like a bad remix. Not forgetting some loud drunk who was thrown out from the club on the roadside blabbering away about what none could care less.
As if filling up two of your senses is not enough the smell of cigarette smoke, alcohol and sometimes the foul smell of people who doesn't know their drinking limit fills the air.
The breeze of the night that comes once in a while caresses the cheek so gently yet gives a chilly feeling. Contradicting. Some delusional beings seek for the missing piece of puzzle in their hollow self in the night. Some just came to drown themselves in the pits of the night-life. Some just came to take their minds off from what's troubling them. Of course, some just want to have fun.
When there is demand there is supply. The place is exactly for whatever reasons people came for.
At a jazz pub on the street, the sound of live band could be heard. In there, a petite girl with light make-up on sat alone in her baby blue with black outline formal coat above her plain white collar button-up shirt with skinny tie loosely hanging at where it should be as an additional clothing accessory. From waist down she wore a simple tight short black pants hugging her assets at the same time reveals her milky white legs and a black heeled boots. Twirling her cocktail on the table and finishing her last drop of it she sits back crossing her leg enjoying the performance from the live band in front of her. A small smile could be seen every now and then from her approving the music that's filling her ears.
"Ms. Kim can I get you another drink?" the waiter interrupted.
"Give me my usual please." She said with a smile.
"Sure."
"Thanks Jay."
Taking a sip on her second cocktail she let her eyes roam while the band takes a break. Jazz music could be heard playing on the background in the midst of all the chatter in the bar. She just observes the people around and wondered if anyone really came for the music like she did. Amused by her own thought she shook it off thinking it's near to impossible from the looks of it.
A few groups of people are only drinking away regardless of what music feeds their ears. They might be drinking whiskey or brandy for all she cares but all she could see are pretenders trying to hard to look impressive.
Then there are the normal ones who just came to relax with or without the music she isn't sure but definitely not without the dartboards on the wall. Classic of a jazz bar to have one or two dartboards and of course not forgetting the pool table not far from it.
While some others flirt away pretending to giggle at some lame joke and sitting way too close to each other as if the jazz music could drown out their voice at a normal speaking distance. Not to mention the occasional sly touches here and there. Typical. Once in a while out of curiosity or boredom she let guys or even girls who approached her flirt with her but nothing would happen. Those people are just acting and of course she would act in return. Once she couldn't handle the pretentious act she breaks it off with her honest thoughts. Without fail it sends each and every one of them back to their original seats.
