I, Rebecca Young, am dead. Yeah, dead. I died in the infamous Murder House in 2019 on June 15th. I was onlyseventeen. Me and a couple of 'friends' had stupidly decided to brake into the house to see if it was actually haunted. Of course with my luck, It actually was and now I'm one of the goddamned ghosts haunting it.

I remember dying- no actually, I remember the night I died. My parents were working late that night, I remember my mother telling me they would be home early morning the next day. My Mom and Dad had both worked as nurses at the hospital and that night had been busy. After they had left I called Veronica and Micheal, my best friends, and told them to come over and party it up with me. There had been a football game a few nights before and there was still a half a case of beer in the fridge. They had come over and we started drinking.

I was two beers in when I'd had the idea to check the house out. “Let's go to Murder House.” I suggested. Veronica and Micheal stared at me wide eyed,

“Are you fucking serious right now Rebecca?” Micheal asked me. I nodded and took a cigarette from my pack.

“Dead serious. I want to check it out, see if it's really haunted. I'm going and you two are coming with. Unless you're chicken- shit.” I taunted, unlit cigarette hanging from my lips. Veronica laughed and playfully pushed Micheal. I lit my smoke and took a puff, smiling at the dorks I had befriended.

“I'm in. It could be fun.” She smiled at me then added, “Micheal if you don't come, I'm calling you King Chicken- Shit for the rest of you're life.”

Micheal had sighed and pulled on his coat, “Let's go then. If we die I'm never talking to you two again.”

It had only been a twenty minute walk, I clicked my flashlight on and stumbled up to the gate. The lock and chain holding it closed had dangled between the bars, not even locked, fortunate for us. “Come on, it's open.” I said quietly as I pushed the gate open. I shone my flashlight around the front yard, walking up the small stepped path leading to the front door, Roni and Mike in tow.

I scanned the area around the door, It had to have been there somewhere. I sighed when I 'd looked under the welcome mat and found nothing. “Looking for this?” Veronica asked me, holding the key to the house between her thumb and index finger.

I snatched the key from her sluggishly, “Where did you find it?” I asked. The raven haired girl pointed to the ledge above the door. “Wow, I never would have checked there.” I laughed. I motioned for the two to follow me as I shakily unlocked the door, nervous as to what I'd see on the other side.

I'm not quite sure what I'd expected. Rivers of blood running down the walls, maybe a dead body or two. What I'd seen, though, surprised me to say the least. I flashed my light around the front entrance, from what I could see, It was actually really beautiful. “Didn't expect it to look so nice.” Micheal muttered. Veronica had huffed out her agreement. “Well, it doesn't look like any ghosts are home. Let's go back.” Mike said, heading for the door.
