Kira stretched in the midday sun as she leaned against a tree. The dark purple violet scaled dragoness relaxed as she watched the nearby river run by. Her white claw tips twitched as she pushed herself back onto her feet. Her white horns swept back, her wings neatly folded behind her back as she gently rubbed an itch on the side of her leg. Kira is an anthropomorphic female dragon from the clan known as Cynder. She wasn't the fastest, brightest, strongest, nor most clever of her clan she was simply average. Despite her slender form and good looks, she was still considered average amongst her clan. Others were more beautiful that demanded the attention of the local male populous, others had better leadership skills, were more charismatic. So many others had skills that outstripped her own, making her simply just blend in with the others but Kira would not have that, she wanted to stand out and that is why six months ago she left her clan in search of something that would do just that, little did she know that today was the day that was going to happen, but at the same time the uniqueness she desperately wanted all these years would become the last thing she would ever desire.
Reaching down she grabs her backpack. Her blue jeans and white tank top shirt was nothing fancy but it did the job on this relatively hot summer's day. She heard rumors about a mystical cave in the forest and she just had to find out if these rumors were true. Kira may not of been the best at anything but her drive and curiosity was second to none. After filling her water pouch from the river she headed into the forest, the friendly summer forest with birds chirping, wind gently blowing through the trees, the light shimmering through the treetops giving just enough light to keep the forest well lit and far from imposing.
"Now where would this mystical cave be..." she comments to herself as she thinks back on the strange travelers she ran across a half a day ago. Their cloaked forms made them impossible to see but then her curiosity drove her to talk to them and learn about this cave. Going by the directions she received via memory she searched and searched feeling that she was sent on a fool's errand till one fateful step, the crack of twigs and the sudden sensation of weightlessness overcomes Kira as the ground below her gives way. Kira lets out a scream as she tumbles down but with some quick thinking or instincts Kira spreads her wings and softens her fall with an only moderate thud. Kira falls to one knee as dirt and leaves fall down upon her body. She flicks her wings to knock them off as she rubs the back of her head and looks up at the light coming from the hole she made.
"Could have been worse," she says with a soft sigh as in that moment something catches her eye. She looks forward to see something shine on what looks like an old stone carved pedestal, "What do we have here?" she inquires to herself as she moves closer. She sees something she has not seen before a white gold necklace, maybe platinum, whatever it was it glistened in what little light was here, but in the center of this intricate V shaped necklace was the centerpiece a solid red diamond that just drew Kira's blue eyes to them. That reflective glow was impossible to ignore. Her eyes were locked onto it as she moved closer her hands twitched as she approached.
"Could this be what they were talking about?" she wondered as she reached for the necklace. Outside is astounding beauty it didn't seem all that mystical but then why was it here? No matter Kira ran her claws across it feeling the cool metal before she looked around as if someone was actually going to see her put it on. She feels the cool metal necklace wrap around her neck, locking into place as she gently rubs the gem as it adorns at the very base of her neck where her neck and chest begin.
"I think I'll keep this," she says as the gem starts to glow, a red light filling the room as Kira jumps back in shock, "What the?" she exclaims as the red glow starts to envelope around Kira. Kira attempts to remove the necklace but finds the clasp has melded perfectly together and some kind of force is preventing her from pulling it off as suddenly her world goes black.
