The Checklist

Chapter 1.

When I was no older than 13 my best friend, Annabelle aka Belle, and me created a list of what we dreamed of in our perfect guy. We called it "The Checklist". As we got older we realized that our "perfect" guy that we so badly wanted might not ever come but a little after we started our freshman year Belle found her perfect guy, Theo. As we got older we started drifting apart; she became closer with Theo and his popular friends, which left me alone. I wasn't  completely alone, I had my twin brother,Liam. Liam was one of the poplars and co-captain of the varsity football team. You would never know we were twins nor related unless you looked extremely close to our facial features. We were polar opposites but it never stopped him from allowing me to hang out with him and his friends even if others didn't want me there. If it wasn't for my brother I don't think I would have made it to senior year. Speaking in which I should hurry up and get ready. Today was the first day of senior year and all I have to do is finish this last year and I'm off to law school. 

"Em are you up", a male voice said from my door in which my back was turned to. I looked back to see Liam with one hand on the door knob and the other on the door frame. 

"Yeah I'm almost ready. Tell mom I will be done in a little", I responded to my brother turning back around..

I didn't hear a response so I turned back around to face the door to see no one there. I shrug my shoulders and turn back around to finish brushing my soft dirt brown wavy hair. I pulled up my hair into a high ponytail and sipped on my gray and white NIKE tennis shoes and walking down stairs to see my brother and his best friend Noah sitting at the counter. Noah is the co- captin of the football team along with my brother. Noah and Liam have been best friends since 4th grade. He is one of the pops aka pouplars and an extremly big jerk.

"Hey Em", my mom said as she was flipping the pancakes she was cooking. "Liam and Noah are going to give you a ride to school", she counited as she slide 2 pancakes on to a plate and gave them to me and Noah flashed a smile that could make any girl weak in her knees but by now I was immune to it. I didn't respond I just nodded my head in agreement. I wasn't to happy about the arrangement because it meant that some girls through out the day will try to get close to me in an effort to get close to Liam or Noah. Girls have been doing it since the start of 9th grade when i started hanging around with my brother an his jerk friends since Annabelle left me for her perfect boy.

My moms voice intruedd my thoughts, "How are the pancakes?" she asked. Before I could answer a male voice deeper than my brothers answered, "Amazing Mrs. Johnson". My mom smiled at the compliment. "Thank you Noah", she responded. 

Liam looked down at his phone to see what time it was. "We have to go mom don't want to be late on the first day", he said. 

"But I just started eating", I complained.

"That's your problem, baby sis", Liam said and my eyes grew with anger. He knew how much I hated being called "baby sis". 

"I'm only younger by 3 minuities", I frowned. 

"I'm still older", he responded as a smirk grew from his face.

"Whatever," I said as I rolled my eyes and finished eating my pancake.

"Bye Mom", I said as I put my dish in the sink and kissed her cheek. I walked over to the counter were my book bag hung from the chair next to Noah. When I went to grab my bag I heard Noah mumble something but I didn't think much of it and just counited to get ready to leave.

"Thank you Mrs. Johnson for breakfast", Noah said flashing that knee weaking smile. 

"Anytime Noah", she responded. 

As we walk to the car I decided to break the silence with something in which benefited me, "I call shotgun."

"That leaves you in the back" Noah said turning to Liam.

"Great" he muffled.

"It be ok, Lo Lo", I said knowing how much he hated the nickname.

"Im going to kill you", Liam said to me and a smirk grew on Noah's face. That was my cue to run.
