Chapter 5

US history is my first class of the day. It was pretty smooth sailing since I find that course to be pretty interesting. My favorite core subject is actually math. I'm not entirely sure why I like math; maybe it's because I do well in that subject.

Mikaela, Paige, and I all agreed to meet after first period so we could walk to physics together since we managed to schedule them during the same period. Paige and I meet up in the center section of the second floor. We wait for Mikaela, as usual. Once Mikaela appears in our view, we head her way and up the stairs to the third floor for physics.

"So Mikaela, how was the gym?" She ended up having gym first period and I knew she had a very negative opinion about it especially now since she looks tomato red-faced and one hundred percent flustered.

But seriously, who wouldn't be? Mikaela stops in the middle of the hallway. Her eyes shift from me to Paige.

"Oh, my god! Gym sucked! What kind of satanic monster allows gym to be first period? What's the point of me even trying to look cute for school if I'm going to sweat off all of my make up and smell like I use skunk spray as a deodorant for the rest of the day? But seriously, thank goodness we're required to change for gym like could you imagine the boob sweat stains. Eww!" she inhales strongly after yelling her entire monologue.

Boob sweat was not an image I need in my head today especially this early in the morning.

Gross.

"Well, my honors trig class was so intriguing," Paige says to lighten to mood, but I think it only made her feel better. But that's okay. Paige should be proud that she excels in all of her advanced courses. Surprisingly, we all have enough time to stop by each of our lockers to switch out our school books. We stopped at Paige's locker, then Mikaela's. My locker stop comes last. As I unlock my locker, I rummage through to find the physics textbook.

Paige continues, "Well, the parts when people weren't talking about this morning's prank were great even if the prank left Hammerstein a painted mess." "Braelyn, how was first class?" Paige asks, nicely, including me into the conversation.

"It was okay. I enjoy US history, but Toby's in my class and it would be great if he could ever learn to shut the heck up during class. Like honestly, nobody cares how hot he thought the girl he was trying to get with last weekend was. When he wasn't talking about her, he was shouting about how epic the paint balloon prank was."

Toby is one of Zeke's nitwit friends. He's friendly for the most part, but sometimes he can be way too cocky for his own good.

"Hey, Toby Westwell is a fine looking guy. But, I know you would rather have Zeke in your class instead," Mikaela winks at me, wanting to stir up a reaction out of me.

I pause the search for my physics book, "Oh, shut up. I don't need Zeke in any more of my classes to distract me. He's in my English class, but that's all I will allow." Not that I have any say or control over whether Zeke is in all of my classes or none.

"Well, he is a decently understandable distraction, but I'm more of a CJ fan," Paige shockingly says.
