2018: Present Day - Unknown POV
I walked down the street with a hood covering my head and my eyes cast down. My hands fiddled with the ski mask that was hidden in my hoodie's pocket. Was I ready? Yes. No. Maybe? I knew it would work out in the end if everything went as I planned. It was some special talent I had - precognition, the knowledge of a future event or situation. That's what I was told it was. The only difference was I could see more than one outcome when I wanted to. Kind of like viewing all possible outcomes. I knew that I would succeed in what I was about to do no matter what.
I walked into an empty alleyway that was hidden with darkness. My phone rang when I got to the back corner. The caller I.D. showed my brother's name. "What's up, Matt?" I said as I slipped the mask over my face.
"My plane got delayed by an hour," Matt's voice said through the phone. "Will you still be able to pick me up from the airport?" I sighed knowing I had something going on at the time he would need me to pick him up at. I grabbed the backpack I had on and placed it on the ground so I could go through it.
"I have something going on at that time. Can you get a taxi or maybe an Uber instead?" I grabbed a gun out of my bag and slid it into my pocket. There was no bullets in it, just a blank. It was only a scare tactic.
"Come on, Ellis. I'm coming to visit while I'm on break. There's no way that you're that busy." I rolled my eyes at my brother. He knew that I had somewhere to be. I had told him a week earlier that after I picked him up I had somewhere to be.
"You know I am, but I'll see what I can do. Look out for a text from me, kay?" A small smile tugged at my lips. "Well, I have to go right now. See you later." With that I hung up on him right after I heard him yell my full name mockingly through the phone.
"Ellis Spencer Pierce, don't you dare hang-" I had cut him up there. It was a joke we always played when someone was about to end the call. Putting my phone in my bag, I took out a pair of gloves. Time to go, Ellis.
I walked into the tower that used to be Avengers Tower. It's now some legal office and it's a well known fact that one of their lawyers where helping out the Avengers with their legal mess from the Sokovia Accords. This is just to easy. It's not like I already knew what would happen or anything. No, that's ridiculous. I raised my gun at the receptionist. "Bring me to Ms. Lucy Hanes please." The receptionist panicked, not knowing what to do. Then they decided to speak.
"S-she's not in right now." What a shame, but I already knew that. I smirked as I walked closer with my gun pointed right at their face. They were shaking from fear. Sweat formed at their brows. People in their offices stared to realize what was happening.
"Then bring me to her office," I hissed as I placed the gun inches away from their forehead. They gulped before shaking their head no. "Fine, have it your way." If only they knew the gun had no bullets. I pulled the trigger and let everything I saw go into play.
(Y/N)'s POV
"The masked offender that goes by ESP made another appearance earlier today at the McCormick Law Firm. They demanded to see the lawyer that is publicly known to be assisting the Avengers, Lucy Hanes. ESP held the receptionist at gunpoint. Their gun once again was only filled with blanks. It is unknown what the suspect took from the firm, but it was confirmed that they tried downloading some information from Hanes's office computer. If you have any idea who ESP is, please call the NYPD immediately," the news reporter on screen reported. I ate some cereal as I sat on the couch. It wasn't even morning anymore, I was just hungry.
I looked over to where Natasha sat on another couch doing something on her laptop. "Shouldn't we be concerned about this ESP character? They could have gotten some information on us at the firm," I stated with a mouth full of cereal. Nat didn't even look up when she replied.
