1.The Gas Station

Hi my name is Blossom I am 17 years old but I'm turning 18 soon. I am about 5'2 I have short wavy black hair, one of my eyes is blue and the other is green, I mean there is nothing special there I just look basic.So my dad decided we should move and here I am in the car on our way to Seattle. You may be wondering why did you move? Well my dad he hits me and he hates me, and he thought that people were getting suspicious. I don't know why he does it, he wasn't like this before he was very loving and would always protect me and Mom. After Mom started using drugs and became an addict thats when everything changed.

I remember the first time I saw her doing drugs, before I didn't know what it was. I blame myself because that day I could've told dad and everything would've stopped there she could've gotten help.

*FLASHBACK 8 YEARS AGO*

"Mommy!Mommy!" I screamed, giggling as I ran down the halls of the house looking for her. I wanted to show her the picture I drew of us. As I opened the door to Mommy and Daddy's room I saw Mommy and her head was on the table she was sniffing like a little doggy. little doggy doggy. I giggled at the thought of it, and Mommy looked up with a serious face, but then here face softened,

"What are you doing here baby?" "I thought I told you to wait because Mommy wanted to relax for a little while." She said.

"I got bored Mommy and I drew a picture of us see." I show her and put my drawing up so she can see it.

"Wow honey did you draw that all by yourself?"she
asked as she looked at my drawing with a sad smile.

"Yes Mommy! Look look it's me and then there's Daddy and Look its you Mommy!" I said as I pointed at Mommy. She just smiled. I looked at her face confused as I saw white stuff on her nose. I scrunched up my nose looking at her, I stayed silent and then I couldn't hold it anymore.

"Mommy!!" I screamed loud and excited.

I couldn't believe she wouldn't tell me.

"You are baking without me again" I said as I pouted. My mom looked at me confused and said "No baby I haven't, what are you talking about?" I jumped on her and wiped her nose with my little finger and showed her the white stuff.

"You see look and you have some on your clothes Mommy." I giggled again at the face Mommy was making. She looked nervous and said "Oh yes baby that's right I was baking but it was a surprise!" She laughed nervously not looking at me. "But don't tell Daddy okay because if he finds out there will be no more brownies for you young lady, it will be our secret okay?" She whispered as if someone could be listening.

I looked both ways and then looked at her and whispered "Mommy if I keep the secret can I get more brownies?" I asked.

Mom sighed relieved.She stood up and wiped the table that had the baking powder with a cloth. She looked at me and smiled with adoration in her eyes yet her smile was sad. "Yes baby."

I felt a sting on my cheek which made me snap out of my memory with mom. "I'm talking to you dumb bitch." Dad said angrily. "Sorry sir, I-I didn't hear you." I say quietly,as I look down to my lap. "Speak louder for gods sake."he screamed as this time he elbowed me in the face. I screamed in pain and soon my nose starts bleeding.

"You better not get blood on my seats, I swear I will kill you! You worthless piece of shit!"

I cover my nose with my shirt and see a red stain slowly appearing in my light baby pink shirt. "Clean this fucking mess up you worthless piece of shit and get ready to leave." He says.

I clean myself up and see my face is now swollen. I sigh and my eyes tear up. Why me? I get ready and leave and get into the car I look outside the car window and see that it's raining. Rain for some reason calms me down it just relaxes me. I feel completely at peace.

We stop at a gas station. I get down trying to be careful hoping I don't slip and fall with the rain. I go inside the gas station I realize its empty nobody else but me and the guy at cash register is looking at me weird.
I ignore him and I get a shirt and pay. I go the restrooms and change as quickly as I can.

As I get out I am about to turn to the corner when I bump into someone and slip making me land on my butt. Ouch!

"You should watch were you are going." A deep voice says giving me shivers all up my spine.

I look up and see the most attractive man I had ever seen in my life he has long black hair that covers his eyes but I realize that his blue eyes are glaring down at me.

I stand up and my eyes water, I look down embarrassed," I-I'm sorry I didn't see you there." I stutter as my voice sounds shaky.

His eyes softened as he looked at me "It's alright sweetheart do you need help getting somewhere are you los-" the handsome man is soon interrupted by my dad as he comes out of nowhere.

"Get in the car," he says as he glares at the man. I turn to look at the man and see he is glaring right back at him. My dad grabs me roughly from my arm and pulls me.I whimper as I feel the pain. The mans gaze snaps back to me and his eyes softened, he glares at my dad once more.

"Let her go," the man says in an authoritative voice.

My dad starts laughing but I can hear he is scared "She isn't yours, she is coming with me and that's final get in the damn car Blossom." He pulls me more roughly this time making me trip and fall. I wince as I see the blood on my knee. I stand up and look at the man he looks at me with worry in his eyes.

"Yes s-sir."I look down as I walk back to the car. I look back and see the man already looking at me. The car starts again and we are driving off getting farther away from that man, I see as the man slowly turns into a little dot and then he's gone I sigh. It's been such a long drive.
