'This should be the place, Fortuna.' I and my teammates walked through a vibrant forest as we came across a small valley full of ash. Small embers covered the whole valley itself, it almost looks like a fire cut straight through the forest in a straight line.
The small embers littered in with the forest's ashes were highlighted as the sunset overlooked us."Do you know what happened here?" Our leader of the group Jaune asked in general.
"Apparently apart of this town was burnt down and overtaken by Grimm," Ren replied to Jaune in a monotone.
"A lot of towns were burnt down, weren't they?" I zoned out as memories of the fall of Beacon resurfaced in my memories.
Since Beacon fell, Yang has become a homebody and won't do anything to save people like what she used to want to do. Then again I can't blame her, she did lose her arm.
But I felt happy when (Y/N) sent a message to me a week ago, saying to meet him in the village of Fortuna. Hopefully, when I find him he can convince Yang to get back into the fight.
"Guys, I'm tired. When are we stopping?" My final teammate, Nora gave an extracted sigh.
"Yeah, I'm tired too. Plus it's starting getting dark now. Ruby, do you know how far we have to go before we get to the village?" Jaune's anxiety could be heard in his voice.
"It should be right here." I started to feel unsettled by what the map I was reading was showing.
Just as we were about to give up and put up our tent since the moon was the only illumination,(which had poor lighting) a severe lightning storm happened. The strikes of lightning were colored a dark crimson red.
"How is there a thunderstorm when there were no clouds five minutes ago?" Jaune jumped at the sound of the thunder rumbling above us.
"Your right, I don't smell any moisture from rain clouds." As Ren came to that realization, all four of us gathered together back to back.
"Do you think its someone's semblance?" I readied my amalgamation of a rifle and scythe.
"Lighting or whatever it is, I just want to go to sleep or break something!" Nora readied her 5' long hammer.
The red lightning started to randomly strike the ground around us until one of the bolts of electricity curved straight towards us and barely missed.
Unlike the other strikes of lightning, the one that curved around and missed us stayed in the air and did not disappear.
As my team and I looked at the stream of lightning, it seemed like it was showing a path before unseen because of the dark night.
"Should we follow it?" Jaune put up his shield ready to guard anything.
"Whatever it is, let's just the find guy who's doing this and break his legs." Nora sprinted into the forest following the tether of lightning.
"Nora!" Ren shouted and chased after Nora as I and Jaune followed them both further into the black forest with the suspended bolt of lighting acting as a guide to somewhere unknown.
