Travis POV
I waited in line for what would be my class room for almost a year. I saw my friend, Julian, with his parents who were waiting anxiously behind me.
"Hey Julian!" I said. To be honest I hadn't seen all summer, so I was pretty excited. Not like I'm gay or anything.
(A/N he even told me himself)
"Travis, what a great day to see you! How are you?" I was greeted by his dad.
"Oh, I'm well." I responded.
"Hi Travis." Julian said.
I laughed at how sad he looked for it to be the first day of school.
"Someone doesn't look to happy." I commented.
From across my line I saw this girl, I think her name was Monica? I don't remember but I know my friend, Daylene, is friends with her. You know what I think they're best friends. Anyway our new teacher came out of her class as soon as the second bell rang.
"Good Morning! Welcome 5th graders!" She greeted us cheerfully.
I could hear the parents leaving.
Time Skip
For the first day as a 5th grader it wasn't that bad. I headed down the stairs, toward the cafeteria to see my friends, Julian, Ben, and Daylene sitting there. I sat in between Julian and Ben. They were my best friends since first grade, since that's when I came. We were sitting at the same table as some fourth graders. Since this is an after school program we had to take attendance. As it turns out 3/15 fourth graders are in class right next to mine. I decided that since I would see them everyday, I would introduce myself.
"Hey! You three are in the class next mine!" I said. Those three looked at me
"Yeah, we are..." One responded, their voice trailing off.
"Oh, well since I'll see you everyday, I wanted to introduce myself. I'm Travis!" I said.
"Oh well I'm Taylor. These two are Brianna and Audrey," Taylor said.
"Nice to meet you...?" Said the girl I could only assume was Audrey.
I laughed at how awkward they were around me. I walked to my seat.
"So I heard that someone was giving Monica googly eyes," Ben said, laughing his ass off.
I blushed at the comment.
"Was it you Travis?" Daylene said, on verge of laughing.
"N-No! Of c-course not!" I protested.
"Look Travis, I was standing right behind you and I was walking with you and you get the point, but you were looking at her as if you were an eagle looking at it's prey," Julian remarked.
At this point those fourth graders that I talked to earlier were looking at me as Daylene told them my story.
"Daylene!!!!" I yelled.
"So, Travis, you miss your honey boo boo?" One of the fourth graders asked.
"N- no! W-where did y-you get that i-i-information!" I stuttered out.
My face was so red I could feel all the heat rush to my cheeks.
They all laughed, even Julian who only rarely ever smiled, managed to let out a little smile.
Well this is going to be a great year.
