Y/N'S POV
"Erik, what are you up to?"
Erik looked over at me and chuckled saying,"Nothing, baby. Nothing.."
I kicked his plate off the table, and he yelled,"Y/N, I WAS EATING THAT!!"
I chuckled and said,"Now, you're not. What's up? Why are you so quiet?"
Erik smiled at me and pulled me in his lap, before he said,"You're worried about me. Don't be. I'm fine. I was just thinking about you, actually."
I looked at him, and he said,"I'm just trying to figure out how I'm going to take care of you."
I placed a kiss on Erik's lips and explained to him,"Babe, we've had this discussion already. You are already taken care of me so well and I'm not dumping you. Look, I know what happened in Wakanda was..unfortunate, but that doesn't mean I think you're a complete waste of time, Erik. Hey, Erik, look at me.."
Erik looked me in the eyes, and I cupped his face saying,"You have literally been the most overprotective, yet strongest guy I've ever met. Look at everything you had to go through and yet you are still here. Erik, you've risked so much just to be here for me and I..umm.."
Tears formed in my eyes and Erik said,"Y/N, don't cry. Please don't cry."
I said,"I can't help it. Erik, you literally saved my life and I owe you everything. I know we've both been through somethings and I know we don't talk about those things, yet I know you'll be here for me. Erik, I never had anyone care this much about me and I'm scared too. Erik, I'm scared that you'll find some other woman who's way better looking than me and she'll be able to help you more than me. I've always been scared. I just never said anything because you had your own problems and I just wanted to focus on helping you out. I know I should've said something. I..I just didn't know how."
Erik stayed quiet for a minute, but then he finally said to me,"Y/N, you're already perfect and I could never replace you. You don't think I've realized how much you've helped me? I would be stupid if I didn't. I've always cherished every moment I've had with you, because I've had the same fear you do. I knew you were special from the moment you threatened to kill me if I took your drink from you."
I laughed and Erik took my hand, before he finished by saying,"There are plenty of men who would want you, Y/N, and it is why I am so protective over you. Even with everything I've been through, you still prefer to be with me. I love you even more for that which is why I should have done this a long time ago.."
Erik set me down on the sofa and let go of my hand.
I stood up and asked him,"Erik, what are you doing?"
Erik sent me a smile and said,"Sit back down. I will be right back. Just..sit back down."
I sat back down and waited for Erik to come back. On the inside, I felt relieved that I had gotten out my fear for Erik to hear. It turned out he had the same one about me, but it only made me more sure I needed to be by his side.
When Erik rushed back down the stairs, he ended up falling. I giggled quietly. Erik got back up and jogged over to me.
He made me stand up and he pulled out a black box, before he took out a diamond ring.
He slowly got down on one knee. I immediately tried to hold in my tears. I couldn't believe this was happening to me.
Erik smiled and asked me,"Y/N, will you marry me?"
I yelled,"YES, ERIK! YES!!"
He placed the ring on my finger and I immediately tackled him, showering him in kisses.
Erik's smile grew, and he mumbled,"I love you, Y/N. I'm sorry it wasn't romantic, but I had to do it."
I pulled away and held his chin saying,"Erik, it's fine. I don't care. You did it. That's what matters most to me. I love you, too. Can't wait to be your wife. We are going to be cute."
Erik chuckled, and I squealed yelling,"WE CAN INVITE MY FAMILY AND YOUR FAMILY!!"
Erik realized what I meant by his family, which was T'Challa and Shuri, but he eventually gave in. Never too early for progress and I would still be his wife either way.
